Don't know if I've ever seen anyone more wide open than Criner was on that play.
November 26th, 2010 at 8:49 PM ^
Agreed. It was like they saw it was a breakdown and just said screw it, it's not worth trying to run after him and failing miserably. It's not just that there wasn't anyone around him. I don't think there was anyone for another whole screen.
I would like Arizona to win, but I really want the coaches to just fight each other.
November 26th, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
usually I hate Oregon's uniforms, but this combination actually looks pretty slick.
November 26th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
They look slick because the uniform colors actually reflect the school colors
November 26th, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
Oregon has generally been a very, very strong second half team, but they better get it in gear. No way they end up a one-loss team and make it to the MNC.
November 26th, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
If Oregon wins but does not finish strong I wonder if Auburn will be #1 come Sunday
November 26th, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
SEC!SEC!SEC! will be all the ESPN type guys are talking about for a week.
I will be rooting for SouthCarolina to donkeypunch, then kidney punch, then slap Auburn upside the head next week on their way to throttling them.

I was thinking to myself "if i were a voter and Boise St kills Nevada, I might consider dropping Auburn to #3 behind BSU".
November 26th, 2010 at 9:26 PM ^
Every close call is going to Oregon. Officials know where their bread is buttered.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:35 PM ^
it is too bad. I would like to see Bielema get "sexified" by Oregon's offense.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
Definitely feels like it. Oregon has gotten some big breaks in this game.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
Thomas finally ran the ball and was able to score with ease. Oregon's offense has been boring without Thomas rushing.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
If #44 on Arizona played for Michigan and we were on the road against the #1 offense in the country, had just held them to a missed FG, but #44 jumped offsides to keep the drive going, I guarantee he would become a pariah in Ann Arbor.
I mean I have no stake in who wins this game, and even I wanted to Lewanize a donkey after watching that boneheaded display right there.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
Yeah I was screaming at him. I'm scared for him with Stoops, haha. The guy's a nut.
November 26th, 2010 at 10:12 PM ^
Geez, I bet Arizona wishes there was a reset button right about now. Gotta love Chip Kelly; when Oregon is down going into the half, his halftime interviews can basically be summed up with the statement "Bitch, I got this. We ain't panickin'!"

After watching 2nd quarter to the end of Ala-Auburn, and am still watching Oregon Arizona, several observations:
1. A fast spread offense can work in a variety of situation and weather.
2. Both Oregon and Auburn had that other player who could also break a big play. The QB is the key but they both had another player who was a real running threat.
3. Auburn's victory (helped by injuries to Alabama) was in large part due to their defense shutting down Alabama in the second half - so yes, great offense, but even better defensive performance.
4. Oregon's offense gets plays off quickly - they don't seem to be looking to the sideline as long - if they are getting signaled in, it is faster than what we've seen with the Wolverines.
5. Both Auburn and Oregon defenses are far more aggressive - lot more blitzes, lot more pressures (even when not blitzing - trying to overload one edge). These two defenses looked like they were built along different lines - Oregon looks smaller but speedier. Auburn looks more conventional. Both however really tried to put pressure on the QB.
If everyone on the team continues to mature and develop and if we get a bit healthier on defense and more consistent at lead RB, 2011 might be a really good year. Go Blue!
November 26th, 2010 at 10:24 PM ^
agreed...our defense is not aggressive at all...seems like they are always back on there heels. Oregon has givin up 29pts to a decent team...top teams are gonna give up pts. It all comes down to execution, creating stops/turnovers, and turnover/mistake free football.
November 26th, 2010 at 10:54 PM ^
You gotta love Oregon's offense. That'll be us in two years...hopefully.
November 26th, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
How was that fumble to end the half not Nevada ball? If they come back from commercial not in review, I'm going to start the conspiracy stories.
/tin hat
November 26th, 2010 at 10:59 PM ^
They're at half time already?
November 26th, 2010 at 11:08 PM ^
First quarter, that was. And not even given a 2nd replay. Quick replay, dismiss it, never look back. ARGH.
November 26th, 2010 at 11:01 PM ^
or a Henning/Rosenburg/Sharp lead?
November 26th, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
but it also looked like the Nevada player that recovered the ball was out of bounds (legs were out). What would be the ruling on that?
November 26th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
Where's the block in the back on that punt return? BLATANT!
November 26th, 2010 at 11:55 PM ^
looked real impressive so far. They pretty much shut down Nevada's vaunted running attack and does not give Kaepernick and Taua any room to run. Winston Venable is a boss. He would be a perfect bandit for Michigan defense.

Wish they could've got a TD instead of a FG, tied at 24.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:01 AM ^
I assume we're keeping it so vanilla because of the youth, but do you think that GERG has something to do with it?
I can literally count on my fingers how many times we've blitzed this season -- that's usually not a good thing.
I kind of hope we go balls to the wall in Columbus -- blitzes everywhere, onside kicks, going for it on 4th downs, a couple trick plays, etc.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:04 AM ^
NEVADA!
November 27th, 2010 at 1:20 AM ^
That didnt take long for Boise to respond. One play, 79-yard TD.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:32 AM ^
Nah fuck it lol.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:34 AM ^

November 27th, 2010 at 1:41 AM ^
What in the fucking holy name of the football gods was Nevada's safeties doing? The history of your whole fucking program hinges on this one play, and you completely blew it.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:40 AM ^
After Nevada scores, they give up a 79 yard TD play.
Then they score again to tie it at 31 and give up a 54 yard pass play, to their own 9 with 0:01 remaining.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:43 AM ^
Boise State's kicker missed a field goal that would've sealed the game. Hmm... heading into OT.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:40 AM ^

The clock stops on a first down in the NCAA, as soon as the dude is down.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:43 AM ^
But the clock doesn't stop the exact moment he catches the ball.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:45 AM ^
They looked at the replay and even added a second.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:46 AM ^
He fell as he caught the ball, he was down instantly, so yes the clock stops.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:48 AM ^
But normally there's a human element in waiting for the ref to signal, etc. Never liked the replay adding time there since it doesn't happen for every other play throughout the game.
