RR crying on sidelines?

Nobody but those under the 500 point threshold have the guts to post the threads of what we're all actually thinking. The rest of us know better, lest we unleash the wrath of the apologists.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:18 AM ^
Fuck it, I've been doing it for years now, but I also only have about 2100 points after two years of frequent posting...
October 31st, 2010 at 2:56 AM ^
You could be like me and not just post anything at all. Love how you all freak about points!
October 31st, 2010 at 12:24 AM ^
Sorry, but STFU. What, are you worried you might drop below 5K if you say what you really think? Ooooh, some "apologists" might react poorly if you speak the truth and they can't handle it.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:32 AM ^
come out and say what you want. I have no prob with those that have a problem with rich. However, please do so in a mature and rational manner without making up data to fit your argument.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:48 AM ^
i was making an honest observation. it struck me as weird. not pointing to the previous "crying incident" during a press conference. not implying my approval or disproval for RR. not picking a fight, nor saying anything incendiary.
my point was simple - i think i thought i saw RR cry.
thats some pretty raw emotion and heavy stuff, regardless of what side of the fire/save RR fence ya are on. my mates have all moved across the country, but were they all here thats what we might be discussing. thought thats the point of these forums.
id say you calling me out (a longtime reader of this blog) just because i only recently created an account was the immautre action taken here. i tried to pick an accurate title for the thread so those not interested might not waste time on it. sorry if you were expecting something different.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:51 AM ^
I didn't call you out. my reply was towards Bando.
I didn't see rich cry. I was at Cubs AC watching the end of the game. They turned the game off after we failed on 4th down.

seems like more people should have watched the rally to restore sanity this afternoon. We are more divided than liberals and conservatives on MSNBC and Fox News.
FYI: NPR has been rated the least biased media source in this country,

October 31st, 2010 at 12:41 AM ^
I agreed with your point all the way. I apologize for misreading that. It was easy to misinterpret that statement with the comparison to fox news.

I have never started a thread. But, it has nothing to do with my points. It has more to do with the fact that best thing I can think of for a thread is why David Hasselhoff is so popular in Germany!!! Hmm...I guess mgopoints really do have a correlation with cognitive ability.
October 30th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
I said the same thing to my girlfriend when he was wiping his eyes. He's putting everything he has into this team and the defense just isn't progressing.
October 30th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
In the last 3 years, have we ever had 6 months without him publicly crying?
October 30th, 2010 at 11:56 PM ^

Why not + 1,000 to you for being a party lackey?
October 31st, 2010 at 12:21 AM ^
i am no lackey. I am intelligent enough to realize that firing rich is not the answer. I get it everyone is emotional. Here is a tip: get over it. walk away.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:31 AM ^
He has underperformed his whole time at M. The Big East has no ranked teams. He fired his DC after 1 year, He fired his LB coach after 2 years, his D is #120 of 120...
He may have been awesome at WVU, but he's not working out at M. It's OK. Bellichek sucked ass on the Browns.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:36 AM ^
The reasons why this job has been almost impossible has been recounted thousands of times on this board from the empty cupboard on O, the last regime's players not preferring his more demanding training style, having to focus almost entirely on O his first class which led to the current quagmire of talent on D, etc, etc.
He will be awesome here if we let him develop players and shore up the D.
You don't have boycott the Freep. Censorship is not needed in this country despite fox new's misguided war on NPR. Mature discussion is needed.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:55 AM ^
Again, I ask, at what point do we stop blaming Lloyd Carr, and start looking at what is on the field right now?
We can't keep defending this staff by using the previous staff as a whipping boy.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:05 AM ^
I am not blaming him. I am just saying the talent level on O when Rich got here was astrocious. Most of it was at fault of recruits just not working out and transitions which happen for every regime transfer.
October 31st, 2010 at 12:30 PM ^
Your excuses and logical inconsistency are really something else. RichRod has been the coach for 3 years. In that time, he's built a solid offense (and you describe the talent level upon his arrival as "astrocious"...which I think might mean that we were like the Houston Astros, although I'm not sure...I kid, I kid). Anyway, you earlier said:
He will be awesome here if we let him develop players and shore up the D.
Who is preventing him from developing players? And if he can build the O from "astrocious" in 3 years, why is the D even worse than that? Excuses do not win games. It's time to stop making them for the coach.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
perhaps having to focus almost entirely his early recruiting classes on the O may have a direct issue with the lack of depth on the D.
no, it is just another excuse. point out my logical inconsistencies. Everyone says I have them, but they never point out a specific example.
I am tired of the people that never accepted rich from the beginning. The michigan fan base is acting like spoiled children.
I think i found a perfect analogy for michigan football. The Dallas Cowboys.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
You assume that "people" never accepted RR from the beginning. I guess that maybe makes you feel better in defending him? I'm not sure. I don't assume to know you, but realize that I supported him for a long while. He lost my support late last season although I've been hopeful that he could turn it around this year.
RR recruited where he saw fit and we have the results on the field. After three years, there are no excuses. There are only results. I'm tired of apologists acting like spoiled children - it's never my (or, in this case, RR's) fault.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
It is pretty obvious there was a large portion of the alumni base, that has posted on here and on rivals, that did not accept Rich from the beginning (that group includes Desmond, who I talked to after he filmed the title town USA segment on the diag). They have acted like children from the beginning. All I am asking is for people to be rational and patient. I am sick of people that were never for Rich in the beginning posting data sets that are biased (ie leaving out data that shows contrary trends, there is a poster on the fort on rivals that is infamous for posting loaded data sets to push his agenda).
RR did recruit to fit our weaknesses on offense, which were just as bad as our d this year. The lack of depth on D is the result of it. People need to learn the difference between excuses and the reasons why we are here.
I am also tired of people who do not support Rich that are completely closed minded. They refuse to support Rich even if there is evidence that Rich will be great here. Whatever, this is just like politics in this country.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:16 PM ^
Just stop the "acting like children" nonsense. You think it can't be said that the list of excuses for RR sounds like the whining of children who refuse to accept personal responsibility? It is 100% reasonable for alums to take issue with the current state of the program. You might not agree with their upset, but that doesn't make them "children", nor does it mean they're "closed minded". You think there is "evidence that Rich will be great here". More people would say that the "evidence" says that he will not. You might notice that there are less and less of you each week (even on this board which is very pro-RR).
October 31st, 2010 at 6:22 PM ^
thanks for proving my point. It is entitled bullshit like this that proves me correct. You act like just because we are michigan we are destined to win. Bull crap. Tell that to ND fans.
When did facts become excuses? the confusion of excuses with facts is why the is country is so polarized. I could go in a long diatribe about the failure of public education and why this country is polarized and how it relates to our own fanbase.
I never said you couldn't have issues. However, if you are going make arguments against Rich, stick to the truth and valid data.
You know what acting like children is: Booing the team, yelling for Rich to be fired on radio shows, saying everything is Rich's fault, (yes a lot is his fault, but not all).
I see evidence we will be great everytime our offense takes the field, Too bad you are too closed minded to see it. I hate people like you.
October 31st, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
Ok, some facts for you.
Fact: RichRod hired his coaches.
Fact: RichRod recruited his players.
Fact: RichRod is responsible for the result on the field.
Fact: RichRod has the worst record in the history of Michigan football.
Fact: Our defense has gotten worse each year.
Fact: RichRod brought NCAA violations upon the program for the first time in its history.
Fact: RichRod is 0-5 against MSU and OSU
If those aren't valid reasons to be upset with the performance of RR, I'm not sure what would be. Those aren't facts? What are they? Fantasy? Wait, no...more tragedy than fantasy. I'll quote you one more time, just because it's so easy to use your words against you:
The michigan fan base is acting like spoiled children.
And then:
I hate people like you.
I don't hate you. I do feel sorry for you though. You've let your blinders blur the facts before you. Maybe you truly feel RR will be great here. It's possible that could happen, but the opposite argument is not only reasonable, it's likely.
October 31st, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
lets go 1 by 1.
1. true
2. true, but his first class was a combo of the previous regimes and his
3. partially true. He is responsible for the game planning, play calling, player development. He is not responsible for the previous regime's players quitting on him due to the different tempo of practice and the offense.
4. true, but not all of that is his fault. This is a complex system with many variables that are both his fault, Lloyd's, and nobody's.
5. true, but not all of that is his fault. It was it his fault that secondary hating god struck down woolfolk, JT, Boobou, and Warren.
6. Not his fault. Not his fault factions in the AD failed to educate Rich on the internal procedures regarding countable hours. They are only major due to the basketball program probation. keep believing the freep. LOLz
Everything you listed has valid reasons. It is too bad your rich hating blinders made you blind to the truth. I feel sorry for people like you are so closed minded in your hatred.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:23 PM ^
Are you being patient and rational in your treatment of Lloyd Carr over the past month?
October 31st, 2010 at 6:16 PM ^
seriously, did you even read what I write or do you just like to put your own spin on it. i know we don't like each other, but come on I never said any of the stuff you always interpret my post.
I have been more than patient. I could have been LLLLOYD CARR SUCKS!!!! in all caps in replies to you but whatever.
I love Lloyd, but he should not have agreed to extend his contract in 2005. Like I said in earlier posts to you, we should not reply to each other because we will never agree.
October 31st, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
Why on earth should he not have renewed his contract? A promising freshman class that went to the Rose Bowl has a sophomore slump, and the 2006 team looked like one that was poised to win a championship. And, guess what? They came within 3 points of having a shot at it!
Do you not understand that hindsight is 20/20? That the activities of figures in the past did not have the reference point of what would come after when they made the decisions they made? What could Lloyd Carr have possibly known in 2005 to think that he shouldn't continue as head coach?
Your argument makes zero sense. At all. I know you really, really want to defend Rich Rodriguez by using some cockamamie reinvention of Lloyd Carr's tenure, but if you're really going to keep harping on people to be "rational," shouldn't that translate to your argument as well?
Also, what's with the all-caps sections in all of your posts this weekend?
October 31st, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
Perhaps he didn't have the energy to insure the high quality recruiting classes, player development and game prep. I am also a member of the Fort on TheWolverine.com on rivals. It is pretty much accepted by the mods on that site that Lloyd wanted to retire in 2005 but sailboat willy talked him into staying. Hindsight says from the high attrition and poor development of his final classes says perhaps staying was a mistake.
your argument makes no sense. It is obvious you have a hard on for lloyd. You really want to rip on Rich because that is the popular thing to do. i have been following your posts for a long time and I knew you never fully accepted rich. Let me guess you are a les guy. I want people to stick to the truth. I am tired of people lying about Rich.
Dude, the all caps stuff is making fun of the irrational rich bashers on this site that were all pissed off after the win. man you are obtuse.
Like I said earlier we are never going to agree.
October 31st, 2010 at 8:20 PM ^
And I'm sick of you lying about Lloyd Carr. It goes both ways. And if you're really defending your thesis this year, like you brag about at least once every day, odds are you're smarter than that.
Calls for rationality have to be paired with rationality. Also, thanks for the -1, which always pops up within a minute of anything you post in response to me.
October 31st, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
where am I lying? I am not lying. I am just relaying what mods say on the Fort on rivals.com during the period of the transition and also what has been stated by other mods on here. I am sorry it doesn't agree with your rosey view of the man.
your welcome for the -1. Keep riding lloyd's junk and I will keep -1 you. I hate doing it to a fellow band nerd.
October 31st, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
Says a lot about you that you'll neg-bomb based on sheer disagreement, then reply on top of it. And then admit to doing so.
Elevation of discourse right here.
October 31st, 2010 at 8:06 AM ^
boycott != censorship
People not buying the paper is not stopping the Freep from printing what they want. If the Freep becomes unpopular by its own actions, it's thier fault, no one censored them.
