Educated Guess on when the game versus Michigan State will start?
Since this was a slow news day, I thought I'd ask for educated guesses... I'm attempting to reserve a room for a watch party on Oct. 9th and feel confident that the game will be a 3:30PM start time. Is there any reason I should be worried that it will start at noon instead?
Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

unless both teams are sub-500 going into the game, it's safe to expect a 3:30 start.

Today is a slow news day?

I think that was sarcasm.

...noon to 7 pm. If U-M - MSU is at 3:30, watch the early game and treat it like a tailgate. If the game is at noon, turn the rest of the time into a post-game frat party. Either way, you come out plastered.

Might be the best idea ive ever heard.

But I can guarantee you who will finish it!

Looking at the Big 10 Schedule, Ohio St. v. Indiana is the only other Big 10 game listed as TBA. Penn St. v. Illinois and Wis. v. Minn. are both listed at noon. Iowa is off. Assuming (/knock on wood) that both teams are over .500, i think 3:30 is the safe bet. Either way, I would think they would work with you on time if you expressed your intentions.

Is that both universities would prefer a noon start over a 3:30 start to cut down on the pregame revelry. But the records will determine who covers the game, and the bigger the game, the more likely the 3:30 start becomes. If both teams limp into the game, it will be Big Ten Network and a noon kick. If they're both good, ABC will likely carry it at 3:30. If only one team is good, who knows? Either way, I find your lack of faith disturbing*; pony up and reserve the room for the whole time.

v. Notre Dame game gets over. It is an NBC broadcast, thus, it is very likely that Michigan and Notre Dame will still be playing at noon on October 9th. I would bet on 3:30.

Hopefully 3:30 for our sake.

Coming back to the BIG HOUSE for the first time in three years for that game.
I want to kick that teams ass so bad. I'm sick of their fans, coaches, players. They win 3 games a decade and all of the sudden they own us.
First post ever. Been reading this blog for years now, just figured I join. Keep up the good work guys

If it starts at 3:30, that would be telling.
If it starts at noon, that would be telling.
If it is cancelled that would be telling.

If nobody shows up to watch, that would be telling.

.....so what are you telling me?????

What's with all the telling jokes?

Can't really be certain, but my guess is that it should start somewhere right around the time they kick-off. I'm just spit-balling here.

don't ask the MSU time keeper; he will be off by one second.

you forgot to include the location

It's very likely to be 3:30. Few good games are aired at noon nowadays. One (or both) teams would have to have a terrible record going into the game for it to be at noon, and that's not likely given each team's early-season schedule..

but I'm pretty sure the 2008 State game started at 4:00. If not '08, then '06. I definitely went to it and recall thinking it was the latest start time I'd ever seen at M.
