Rittenberg Cites Mgoblog again
I looked and didn't see anyone post this, which is surprising since it was written on Wednesday.
http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/12713/big-ten-lunch-links-267
Too bad he didn't cite to the portion in which Brian rips the Freep
I have a feeling that MGoBlog is Rittenberg's primary source of information....which is awesome.
Dude, I'm on a hunt to find out his username, because I know he posts... how could he resist? I've deduced it to MGoShoe, Blazefire, HAIL 2 VICTORS, MGoJen, The Knowledge, Big Redacted or Freshmeat. Pure speculation, but I have my reasons.
SHOW YOURSELF!
That's such a Rittenberg thing to say... I would add you to the list, however, Rittenberg isn't from, nor does he live in Wichita. Another potential would be Magnus, but I don't think Rittenberg is much of a singer.
add him to the list.
What better way to disguise yourself than to be the one heading the search for... yourself.
Think The Departed.
That's a great point! However, I don't live in Chicago and if I were Rittenberg, I'd give Brian Cook way more love on ESPN.com by interviewing him and having him as a guest analyst of anything Michigan.
EDIT: I'd also take a more vocal stance against the jihad on U of M.
Sounds to me like you're trying to cover something up, willywill. The distraction tactic might just work...
"Uh yeah, it's MGoShoe...er...Magnus...err...Definitely NOT willywill9. Nope."
I am not nearly as good looking as Adam Rittenberg.
...unless you think that I'm using my "Navy background" to cleverly disguise my true identity: nerdy ESPN Big 10 blogger whom we all love.
Alright. I'll remove you from the list (For now.) Adding WichitanWolverine. Are there any others I should add/remove from the list? Mathlete?
I'm honored to be part of the lineup, but if I were Rittenberg, my posts would be much more...substantial and contain fewer hearts, right?
MGoJen has a point....
To quote Scarface in Half Baked... "I believe you yo, I dont' know why, I just do." This list is getting smaller.
Blueinsouthbend can confirm my identity as a non-canidate (Lost?) for Rittenberg. No offense Adam, but I am much better looking than you.
I can confirm Mr. Meat's alibi.
But can you confirm that he is better looking than rittenberg?
I can attest that MGoShoe is not Adam Rittenberg. I haven't figured out who MGoShoe is, but I know he was two years behind me in Navy ROTC. So, I went thru the '86 and '87 Pelorus (NROTC yearbooks). While there were several nerdy looking Midshipman, none of the shorter ones looked like Adam Rittenberg (nerdy or not).
Unless MGoShoe is really not a shoe ....
I don't think so though, because MGoShoe and I crossed up game memories once. Unless Rittenberg went to all the home games in '85 and '86. (Rittenberg looks younger too ...)
[Edit: For MGoShoe - top of page 31 in the '87 Pelorus if you have it]
...my copies of the Pelorus at some point over the past 21 years. I do still have my "Speak Softly..." unit t-shirt. I think that was done your 2/c year, but I could be wrong. Ring a bell?
Yes, I am a shoe and I'm still a shoe (if part time).
I was in the NROTC for the year I was at Michigan back in 83-84...
OK. I don't have an '83-'84 book. And the one guy I can remember being there for a year and then dropping wasn't named Bill.
Try harder
DADT
Then it must be Magnus!
You're forgetting the most obvious one... Brian.
I know that we know both what Brian looks like and what Rittenberg looks like, but lets be honest, have we ever seen them together? Didn't think so. I've seen Mission Impossible enough times to understand how this works.
That's a good point. I had him on the list, but then I thought to myself: "If that's true, then MGoBlog was founded upon lies and deceit." So, even if it were true, I don't want to know
He is DEEEEEP undercover, posing as a female and starting a discussion thread on whether he should switch to a career in law . . . I was totally thrown off the scent, glad you picked it up MGoBloodhound!
A +1 for citing MGoBlog (thank goodness this place exists by the way). But also a quick -1 for citing Henning and his statement about MSU athletic department stability. I'm being chritable on the -1.
A +1 is worth +2 so if your -1 is really a -2, it still cancels out.
That was one of the two chics they kept showing at the ND game last year.
Rittenberg is straight WLA, do the math.
chicago + works for "the man" + inferiority complex = natural gravitation to quasi fascist dictatorships
Anyone know where he went to school? Living in Chicago, I'd guess Northwestern but that's just a shot in the dark.
I think he was originally from the west coast. I seem to remember that in at least one chat that he went to shool in CA.
He's miles ahead of our vaunted print reporters in Michigan, in covering the Big Ten. Angelique Chengelis is a perfectly okay beat reporter. Mark Snyder is a disease process. But you really gotta laugh, when a young guy in Chicago, whose responsibility extends over 11 Big Ten schools, from Pennsylvania to Iowa, is an effectively better Michigan reporter than people like Snyder or Rosenberg, who live in Washtenaw County and have jobs with the region's largest newspaper.
I think Brian does a credible job and makes my job easier.
This is either someone who saw the witch hunt comment and created a profile as Rittenberg as a joke.
Or it's actually him and the whole witch hunt was a fail cause that means Adam hasn't ever posted before.
Either way, funny.
...that I. M. Rittenberg is Brian. But Brian is not Rittenberg.
What about the "The Other Brian"? Maybe Rittenberg realizes that Brian is so awesome that he wants to be like him and calls himself the Other Brian. Unfortunately his efforts are futile since there can be no other "Brian".
One loves Big Ten Sports. The other loves Subway!
I want a sub now.
I wasn't going to come clean, but since someone stole my name as their screen name, well it was time... Truth is, I hate michigan with a passion, but truth is truth and they are the greatest of all time and unlike those hacks at the freep, I have some integrity. See ya around kids.
BTW, even someone as small and nerdy as I am would not use a woman's name as my screen name.. MGOJEN... for real?
Oh, okay, thanks. Go Blue!
I was hoping Rittenberg tried the Mushroom Tea.
We all know what that might lead to.....!
And now today on the Big Ten Blog, one of the "Lunch Links" is another article from Mgoblog
http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/12793/big-ten-lunch-links-269
I was hoping it would be a link to this thread.
It's pretty sweet that Brian's work is getting noticed like this
We got to find out his username, he has to be a member.
KOB??
