Scheduling

Doesn't matter bro, this is a 6-6 outfit for the next decade as long as HarNAW is coach.
Won't be sniffin' playoffs.
January 1st, 2018 at 9:05 PM ^
Harbaugh's record:
2015: 10-3
2016: 10-3
2017: 8-5
Which of those years makes you think Michigan will be 6-6 for a decade?
January 1st, 2018 at 9:23 PM ^
10-3=7
10-3=7
8-5=3
17/3= 5.6666 (rounded up to 6).
Math checks out

the SEC will be forced to schedule an additional conference game, so this entire conversation will be moot.

Do you want to have the reputation of 2017 Wisconsin?

MSU is irrelevant. "Fly on the windshied" was what was posted last year. There were also threads prediciting the demise of Penn State after Barkley. Other teams are not the issue today. We're going nowhere unless we start from scratch and earn it. That means load up top Offensive and Defensive lineman who play with attitide. Also, lets find a QB who can make things happen with his feet. I don't care how many damn stars they have, but I want guys who play pissed.

it just so happened that Bama killed FSU's QB and significantly contributed to them being terrible this year.

that has to do with the SEC playing one fewer conference games. If anything, the Big Ten should pull the same shit and see how it goes over. It's not like Michigan can drop their game against Wisconsin and schedule Mercer instead.
January 1st, 2018 at 9:22 PM ^
Let's not be stupid and drop good out-of-conference teams. Instead, drop that 9th conference game.

I still don't understand why the AD traded a home game against Arkansas for an away game at ND. That has to be one of the stupidest scheduling decisions I've ever seen. Yes, I know it was to smooth out the revenue stream, but at the expense of a probable loss when Michigan can't afford one. Michigan is staring at 3 borderline unwinnable games next year because of it. ND, MSU and OSU on the road are almost certain losses. And I don't see how this team beats PSU or UW at home. Stupid, stupid decision.

I'm glad they scheduled Pitt and lost in 2016. There's no part of me that wanted to see them make the playoffs. Why? So I can hear Kirk Fowler go all Gus Johnson and say PSU winning a stupid football game cleans away the turd stains of turning a blind eye to child molestation?
Just recruit the players and hire the coaches that can win the games on the schedule. I believe the players are there, including all the freshmen than had a rough first bowl game. Wake me up when the offensive coaches are there.

The playoffs will be expanded to 6 if not 8 teams. No way the top P5 conference winners will be left out by 2019. There will be major rumblings this year but it probably will not change until 2019.

Wisconsin wasn't even really in the conversation after they lost the championship game because they didn't play anybody, so this logic doesn't really hold, and you don't make good football teams by avoiding challenges.

we play osu, psu & msu every year. Win those 3 and the B1G CCG and we'll be a really good team.
