TomVH: New Offer(s): DB Jonathan Aiken, LB Lamar Dawson....
DB Jonathan Aiken out of Hollywood, FL just received an offer from Michigan, according to JC Shurburtt.
Here's his highlight video.
LB Lamar Dawson, from Danville, Kentucky also received an offer. I spoke with him today, and he told me that it's too early for a top list, but Michigan is definitely in the mix. He's going to try to make it up for a visit soon. He and his coaches are going to sit down, and figure out a schedule.
Here's his highlight video.
WR Darius Patton also received an offer sometime last week. Darius now holds offers from Michigan, MSU, West Virginia, Toledo, Boston College, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Indiana, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio.
I spoke with Darius, and he's VERY excited about the Michigan offer. He said that Michigan is in his top group, right now. Michigan is going to try to get him on campus soon. He's going to try to make it up in the summer.
He's also friends, and former teammates with current Michigan signee Cullen Christian.
Here's his highlight video.
Is it just me or does he have some really fast legs. He also looks like a kid who likes to hit I would take that on my defense anytime.
is the music in that highlight video ridiculously annoying and repetitive.
It is repetitive, but if that kid is anywhere close to as repetitive on the field as that highlight film, then I'd be happy to see him in maize and blue.
Very impressive for both of them. Hopefully we can get them on campus for visits soon.
Sorry, I added a few after I posted.
don't ever need to appologize to us Tom (eyes gazing lovingly...think the way Homer Simpson speaks of Arthur Fortune)
Definitely looks like a long ball threat
With 2 in our pocket in this class and 6 from 2010, why are we still offering a DB?
We play with 5 DB's at a time, and one of our starters this fall is a senior. Keep in mind that Dorsey might not show up, and there's always the chance of a safety moving to LB. If Dorsey doesn't come and Turner moves to Safety, we'll only have 4 CB's on the roster after TW leaves and before this class comes in. That's not enough. And we only have 3 guys who play the deep safety right now so we should add at least one free safety in this class, and we have none so far.
While we're ob the subject of offers there are two DE's that we had offered who committed elsewhere on Saturday. Nathan Hughes(Tex) to Oklahoma and Jalen Grimble(Nev) to USC.
I don't think we ever had a real shot at Grimble, but the Hughes commitment was a little disappointing. He has great size and mentioned Michigan quite a bit over his recruitment, I guess we never really got him up to AA though
I read on Rivals that at this point Michigan has extended roughly 110 offfers (compared to OSU's 56 and MSU's 69). With how selective our class is projected to be, are you surprised by this high of a number of offers this early? Or is this something Coach Rodriguez regularly does as part of his recruiting strategy?
Thanks
The sample size that we have so far is probably not very fair, with regards to Michigan. Rich Rod has been recruiting under abnormal circumstances, and issues that an Ohio State is not dealing with. They probably have the luxury, right now, of being more selective with offers because they aren't going through a jihad.
It seems like Michigan is going to be more aggressive with offers, but until we get back to normality, I'm not really sure. We can't afford to wait kids out, and not offer right now.
Not all of the offers that they have out are commitable ones, but rather token offers in the "hey kid, we'd love to have you play for us" mode.
Obviously as kids commit to the class, the number of committable offers will decrease even more.
Holy Shit how many kicks did this dude block??? Great tackler with what looks like great speed. He plays all over the place. I like that kind of versatility.
was a star RB for Sweater Vest at YSU. Just sayin'....
I thought they were only famous for their drive-bys.
As long as you stay on the YSU property you are safe...I wouldn't recommend leaving campus when it's dark.
