Purdue Game Ticket Information
PSA for those living in the Chicago Area, Indiana, or Michigan who might be thinking of attending next week's Big Ten Opener.
The best bet to buy tickets currently is from the venue itself, which has all types of ticket options at lower prices than secondary markets. Secondary prices are higher than venue prices and the venue has much lower fees than Stubhub & co.

This is Michigan's first trip to West Lafayette since 2012 and UM will not go again until at least 2022.
With the Boilermakers looking much improved under a new head coach, plus Homecoming Day, this should be the best environment in Ross-Ade in many years (the stadium looks to be about 75-80% sold out currently). Let's fill it up with plenty of maize and blue to support our team!
I don't have any information about Parking or Tailgating, so if someone knows that scene please comment below!

I made the trip in 2012. Don't know if this is still the case but parking in university lots there was free (!) on gameday. That was awesome.

Unlikely. I imagine he will be taking Notre Dame at Michigan State in primetime.

I'd go again if I could. Watching Michigan play on the road is a really cool, different experience.

I'm not going myself, but very much wish I could.
I'm worried too, but if we were to lose I'd rather be there in person (Boiler fans are harmless and we can still feel bad for them) and not have to listen to the announcer du jour going insane because you know the entire game they'll be rooting for Purdue.

According to Hammer and Rails (Purdue's SB Nation blog), the official away sections are typically 117-120. However, these are some of the worst seats in the stadium and not on Michigan's sideline. I'm also not sure if that's the case for this game, given those sections are the least sold out in the stadium (barely any seats have sold) and I can't imagine that UM wouldn't use nearly any of their allotment... They are in the endzone corner on Purdue's side, in the Northwest corner of the stadium. I imagine U of M's allotment was split between these sections, with a smaller number in the lower seats of the Michigan sideline for players/coaches' families and high level donors.
So I guess the short answer is that I'm not sure. Although, in general, Michigan's sideline will have a decent amount of maize and blue even if you're not in an official UM section.

Fair enough and good points!
I guess my take is that I'm skeptical that is actually the visitors' section for this game/this season.

likely one of the worst destinations in the big ten except perhaps east lansing.
I asked a friend who live there to take me out to eat. They asked if I wanted Italian or Mexican. I chose Mexican and so we went to Chipotle. I asked what the Italian option was. He said "Noodles and co." This is not a made up story.

It's Homecoming because they want to guarantee a large crowd in their favor.

The game is not likely to 100% sellout, but maybe.
Purdue hasn't fully sold out a game since 2008 for a rivalry game against Indiana.
Given that you can buy tickets online for $40 currently, I'm not sure how much money you'd save by scalping and why that would even be worth it. If you're going by yourself, you'd definitely be able to find something. But you'd probably save $20 maximum, so, idk why that should be a dealbreaker.
The gas for your drive would be more expensive than the ticket.

The Drew vs Drew game. Purdue won on a last second FG. From my vantage point it looked wide left but when I got to see in on TV, it did make it through the upright. At one point we were ahead 28-10 at half time but our Drew went cold in the 2nd half, and due to Carr's conservative play calling once he has a big lead.

No, it's not?
Forecast is currently 84 degrees and sunny. Beautiful weather for a late September game; by the second half the sun will be starting to set and by the end of the game it will likely have cooled into the mid-seventies.
