Kevin Williams Drops UM
Bad news. Kevin Williams fails to mention UM in an interview behind the Rivals pay wall. I had hopes for him, but as Tom stated before, things were not looking good for us. His final three is Neb, Wisc, and Sparty. Oh well...

Dammit.
NEXT!
We really needed a defensive tackle like him, what a bummer. Guess you could see it coming when he chose to go to Nebraska's spring game over ours.
This doesn't really surprise me. I can't see the video, and haven't talked to him about it, but like I said previously, it wasn't looking good.
I would expect him to commit to Nebraska sooner than later.
this stinks of negative recruiting from MSU
words cannot express my hatred for Dantonio. i cant wait to see us beat him.
I feel like it shouldn't be this hard for us to bring in a solid-to-elite NT in this class based on our glaring need for one. Don't these kids see how easy it will be to get on the field? And they'll almost be gauranteed the starting job for 2 years.
Tom or anyone else, who are the other NT's we're looking at or are considering us?
I think we have a really good chance with MD DT Darian Cooper. He's coming in for the Big House BBQ on May 21st.
He's really good, but even more he's a really good kid. He's going about the process the right way, and he's really excited about Michigan.
Good to hear that we have more players looking at us. What about Timmy Jernigan (sp?). Is he expected to stay in the south?
University of Florida.
espn lists u in his top 5. i imagine the stacked DT position that florida has put together will take some effect on their recruiting at the DT position. of course, this wont effect guys on the level of tim jernigan but its always something to consider.
put it this way:
go to florida = redshirt, sit on bench for 2 more years, listen 2 tim tebow
go to michigan = plenty of playing time as a freshman
that said, ur probably right as to him being a florida lock.
Hey Tom I was wondering if you knew anything of Quinton alston. He's a linebacker out of the new jersey and goes to the same school as damiere Byrd. The top prospects guys have had numerous articles on him and I was wondering if you know if the staff has talked to him at all. He's got offers from the likes of Iowa and Boston college

when you're going to capitalize a word?
I do the same thing with random caps and have to try to catch myself. I think I do it because I am a terrible typer. I know sooner or later I need to hit the shift key, and sometimes do so without even realizing it. I laughed at your post but it does hit close to Home.
PS I am the same way with commas and those colon things, they are sometimes a complete mystery to me.
I post pretty much all of my comments on my Ipod so it decides for me

thanks for limiting the panic around here
Rated higher than Kevin Williams on scout and will be in town tomorrow. Hopefully he is a guy who will take a look at our depth chart and see a solid opportunity.
Not sure what our chances are with him; he has quite an offer list going. Anyone know what he thinks of UM?
Yeah, I've talked to him a few times. I think he's far from deciding. He's really in the discovery phase of what schools he wants to narrow down. He spoke highly of Michigan when we spoke, though.
We'll know more of how he feels after the visit, obviously.
I'm guessing it would be hard to recruit any DT against Nebraska. With all the success their coaching staff has had with DT's both at NU and LSU, I'm sure it's pretty easy to sell their program to kids. I would guess they are selling the whole idea of being the next Suh to Williams.
We shall persevere
Everyone has said for a few weeks now that he is expected to commit to Nebraska on Sunday. I never saw where the expectation came from myself but just about every fan base is saying he will be a Husker.
the Nebraska coach if I recall correctly or they coached together. He was a big Nebraska lean and I truly thought only MSU had a legit shot at him due to his stepfather.
Michigan gave it a good try but unless you grew up a UM fan, it is going to be hard to get top tier kids to commit until the season plays out or at least until Michigan gets to 6 wins.
that connects a few dots, thanks
I can't imagine that sending a DT to one of the top 2 or 3 picks in the NFL draft this year exactly hurt in Nebraska's recruiting pitch. Their remaining guys (Crick and Steinkuhler (sp?)) are no slouch either.
He's a Nebraska lock
the Nebraska key?
Are there any DT's from Michigan worth offering? Or is it a down year in MI for DT's?
