Knowrivalry.com has some interesting data.
I was listening to the podcast "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" and the episode was about rivalries. They had someone from http://knowrivalry.com
on the podcast and after surveying fans about NCAA football, MLB,NFL, NHL and soccer they scored the rivalries. They look at which teams have equal respect/hatred for one another and which fan bases have one team that thinks the other school is a rival when the other team doesn't think they are a rival (what they call "Unbalanced Rivalry").
There is quite a survey that I filled out concerning my opinion of our rival. It gives you 100 points to distribute to as many or as few teams as you want. I gave 90 to OSU 9 to ND and 1 to MSU. You can comment on why you chose the allocation of points that you did. After it identifies your biggest rival it asks questions like, "Would you consider having intimate relations with an OSU fan?" "Would it make you happy if their coach or player were suspended for a year?" All of the questions were on a Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree scale.
They ranked Top 10 Rivalries and Top 10 Unbalanced Rivalries with scores. These are the only ones that I looked at.
Top rivals: Arizona and Arizona State 171.76
UM and OSU 159.55
Toledo and Bowling Green 152.32
Top Unbalanced: Boston College(74) and ND(1.7)
Vandy(73) and Tennessee(7.6)
down the list at 8th... MSU(67) and UM(17)
ND is 14-9 all time vs BC. ND winning the last 4 but splitting the last 12. Funny that ND could care less about "The Holy War" with BC. They have so many other rivalries such as Michigan, USC, and of course Navy (Navy is to be read in a sarcasm font). Enjoy the site. I did.

Patriots-Colts and Bengals-Steelers made me laugh.
Relevant. Still makes me sick.
Me too bud. I don't admit that often around here though. I wonder if there are enough of us to form some sort of support group.
That means there are three of us (at least) in the same boat. There aren't many of them worth a damn, but I got a good one. She hasn't pooped in our cooler for years.
ND scored 1.7 points in that rivalry. They could have score as low as 0 which would be caring even less.
They should be "MAC." That's their rightful space but for their rivalry with Michigan of course. (coughing fit interposed with "blowjob" and "eat me")
And we are not listed among their rivals. Data needs to be refreshed. Maybe last year's beat down destroyed the rivalry
PSU gave us 19.22 points (more than we gave to MSU) and we only gave them 0.56 points. I'm surprised Wisconsin didn't give us more also (3.83 to our 0.13). I've heard several UW fans claim we are their rival.
Arizona and Arizona State?
I assume Michigan's points are getting taken by MSU/ND a bit, and OSU may even have some given to PSU.
I imagine Arizona-ASU is fairly focused on each other with a few throwing some token points at USC or something
Edit: I was correct. It's entirely because Michigan gives points to MSU & ND
Arizona-ASU get 89.25+82.51
Michigan-OSU only gets 68.84+90.71.
I've done it, and IMO it makes it even better.
Heh.
Both MSU and OSU.
As far as ND, I don't know a single female who ever attended that school. Only guys.
Do they even have women there?
Who performs the walk of shame the next day?
It was the walk of pride, baby!
I haven't looked at the EPL surveys yet, but the "Derby's" or cross-town rivals are huge (eg, Man U/Man City (United vs City) or Liverpool vs Everton).
Just checked it out, no soccer. Meh.
gave up as soon as I saw the page after the 100 pt distribution. Ain't nobody got time to answer 50,000 strongly agree/disagree questions
FWIW I put OSU 60, MSU 30, ND 10
BAM!
False
Amigas
It's named for their founder, if memory serves.
That's correct, but almost as inaccurate. Cornelius Vanderbilt liked to call himself "Commodore," even though that's a naval rank and he never served in the Navy. He just ran a ferry service at one time and had an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
It's my journey. The ND game turns me into a lunatic. I'm gonna just come out and say it despite trying to convince everyone that I care more about MSU. Living out of state, I don't deal with MSU fans at all. While I run into ND and OSU.
OSU 55
ND 20
MSU 15
PSU 5
WISC 5
The list of books is interesting too:
Turns out schadenfreude is a better predictor of affective and behavioural responses than fan identification, despite its popularity in recent research involving rival fans.

Anyway, I really don't like Ohio State.
"Would you consider having intimate relations with an OSU fan?"
Does that podcast think we are all virgins? Extra credit if you've been intimiate with fans from all three OSU, ND, MSU? That is an odd question.
ha, not at all.
I'm guessing the concept behind this is one of disgust, which the researchers may be why the are asking the question about intimate relationships.
Back in the day, ESPN had this commercial about sports (link)
OSU 65
ND 25
MSU 10
