Illinois basketball hires Brad Underwood

Also, that basketball contract pissed off Mike Gundy, because he had had more success and a longer tenure than Travis Ford, but the AD wasn't offering him a ten year contract or anything close to it.
In many ways, Illinois' turmoil and loss has been our gain lately. You probably could find some cause-and-effect correlation between our rise to the Big Ten elite and Illinois' demise to the near bottom of it.
