Amaker Update
Here's an update on one of the coaches in our rearview mirror. Tommy just became the winningest coach in Harvard basketball history, prompting this feature on CBS's "Men of March". Interesting cameos here by a few recruits who chose Amaker over Belein:

What's crazy is Amakers team in his final year would run, what could be JB's last team at Michigan, off the floor.

Not a chance.

You registered today of all days and decided to go on the offensive against Beilein?

Guarantee this guy is a recently banned user. R. Silk made a bunch of disparaging comments regarding Beilein and was banned for it so I'm guessing he's back already.

Nice guy, good enough stabilizer in the short term, but never worked long-term at Michigan. Iffy, underperforming, overly injury-plagued teams. Total unwillingness to do the PR to put the program on the map again at a time when Tom Izzo was everywhere a camera could capture him. Didn't make inroads with MI high school coaches. Didn't like the press, didn't want to do a radio show, didn't like doing TV, shied away from most everybody and everything.
Perfect for a place like Harvard, where you can do that kind of thing and no one cares. I'm glad he's had the success elsewhere, just glad I didn't have to watch more Amakerball at Crisler.

Yep. As much as I've seen some people say that Amaker was hamstringed by how the administration treated the bball program at that time - which has some validity - he hurt himself by not doing any public relations work whatsoever.
