Submitted by Yessir on

Couple of CBs for Filiaga this afternoon.  Ace put one in for Becton.  Ruiz and Nico got 1 today as well.  Jordan Anthony got 1 too.  All for the good guys, btw. Irving-Bey with 4 recent CBs.

according to Chris Balas from Inside The Fort is reporting Harris "signed paperwork" and its a done deal - he is Blue! Believing this is difficult, but ever hopeful ...

EEs need to process all the paperwork which is what he did, but ITF was also reporting their contacts are claiming it is a done deal. Yet, I wouldn't be surprised Harris processed the paperwork with Bama and USC as well. This one is very close and not just smoke screen stuff. Curious, maybe Bama is warming to Akers instead?

Sorry I want to be a super fan again. I want to see U of M in the CFP every year, not 10 and 2. Your not going to do it with project guys, you need studs period. OSU and Bama have no issues recruiting NFL players. So honestly, so should Michigan. Do not give me the "it takes time" crap either. Saban won in in three years, OSU want it with a third string qb. You want people's hard earned money, put up or shut up. There is a reason U of M is missing on top prospects. HOLMES going OSU even after Lewis in all American. WTF. GI've me some insight.

For a minute I thought you were real but now, I see you for what you really are. Lol. I'll never respond to your posts again. Your cup is definitely half-empty. Wow! Belittling your so-called team. I don't think you know what a troll is, but if you don't just grab a mirror and growl in it!

sharing your caustic personality with this board.  We welcome all types.

Saban was 7-6 in his first year and 12-2 his second. A total of 19-8 over 2 years is worse than 20-5 for JH.  We shall see what year 3 holds for JH. Winning at Bama has less hurdles than winning at UM.

If you phrase your request for "insight" with less antagonism, you might get ample input from folks on the board.

BTW, what 1 percent do you represent?  1 percent incarcerated over their lifetime or 1% of OSU trolls trying to post on Mgoblog?

is really concerning with JH into his 3rd class.  Toss out the first class with only 6 weeks.  The 13 months to recruit 2016 delivered 1 starter (Bredeson) and 1 likely starter (Onwenu). The 25 months for 2017 has a bunch of projects at this point.

Very surprised that elite guys like Leatherwood, Wills and others are not choosing UM and this staff.  Great pedigree at Stanford and the 49ers with a power running reputation, but the elite talent is not choosing UM. Somewhat perplexing like the TE recruiting struggles other than Asiasi.

JH can scheme and develop without the top tier power talent - but it would be glorious to watch UM throttle folks with sheer power in combination with scheme & execution.

I don't think we have a struggle finding quality TE depth on this team:

Bunting
Wheatley
McKeon
Eubanks
Asiasi
Gentry

OL on the other hand, is a glaring problem. That 2014 and 2015 OL haul of only Cole, JBB, Newsome, Runyan Jr, Ulizio over two years is hurting us BIG right now.

Cole obviously panned out. JBB hasn't shown much, especially struggling against Rutgers and Illinois. Poor Newsome looked the part of a solid LT, but he'll probably miss all of next season. Runyan and Ulizio are both projects that aren't finished yet.

2016 addressed this problem with Bredeson, Onwenu, and Spanellis.

That's why it's so important to get 6-8 OL this cycle. We need depth + players that can contribute right away.

LOL What?

We're not moving TE to OL or LB...

LB we're more than fine. We have McCray, Furbush, and a host of athletic young guns waiting to get the call (Bush, Gil, Uche, Mbem-Bosse).

And we'll still likely get Filiaga and Ruiz to close out our OL recruiting this cycle, both will be starting by their second year on campus (Filiaga possibly as a true freshman).

if we want to win championships we need a much better OL. Big dudes like Bama is getting. Drevno is great at development, but tough to teach 6"-7" 335lbs with the speed/agility to play wildcat QB for his prep team. Wilson hurts, but oh well. We need Chuck badly, all of our other OL commits are 3* redshirt guys in need of full manhood.

at recruiting and the struggle to attract top talent.  On your list, only Wheatley and Asiasi have any meaningful playing time.  The other guys might develop, but nothing so far.

Look, JH is devoted to the TE and that is rare - yet Asiasi is the only top 15 TE either year and he was a last-minute flip.  Stanford, ND and OSU have 2 each in that span with early commitments.Butt just won the Mackey and top  TEs should be knocking down the UM door but they're going elsewhere.

the 2016 ended at a 247 composite score of 280.38 with 28

2015 was 194.69

2014 was 233.57

2013 was 289.15 with 35 recruits

2012 was 275.89 with 34 recruits

2011 was 210.78

2010 was 232.13 with 28 recruits

2009 was 255.782

2008 was 256.91

2017 is already at 258.61 with 22 recruits - we are on track for possibly our best recruiting class in a decade - even better than 2016's (one reason is far fewer 3-stars and the 3-stars we have are borderline to the 4-star cut-off)

we have 4 OL commits - 3 of them are solid - all likely to red-shirt (which Wilson was likely to do as well)

we turned down Banks

we likely add 2-3 more OL to this class and build up depth

this whole team needs to transfer on from the 2012/3 large classes of Hoke to Harbaugh recruits to build the depth and foundation - if you take just 2016 and 2017 recruits it fills out the depth charts impressively - it isn't Harbaugh's fault there were 2 classes that totaled the size of one class prior to him getting herre but that is where the kids who would have filled in the transition better would have been

panicking over 2017 is dumb - I say put the talent in and let them learn so by the end of the year they are ready for the big games

Born, bred, raused in Detroit. Played high school ball in Detroit. The 1 percent I represent is the hard working come from nothing and successful without a degree from Michigan. I thinks it a fair question, why can't Haurbaugh get the recruits?? Browning commitem to OSU tonight, WTF? Your can spin it anyway you want. Players win games, OSU AND Alabama get them, we don't why?

Steves_Wolverines

I'll believe you're not a troll. Here's what's happened since Harbaugh has been here:

2017 recruiting so far: #5 Nationally, just landed the #1 WR, and possibly landing the #1 player in the country.

2016 recruiting #6 in the Nation, landed the #1 player in the country in Rashan Gary. Landed 10 players who were Top 10 in the Nation at their listed position.

He has a 20-5 record, when the previous 3 seasons records totaled 20-18.

Now tell me where you want to criticize Harbaugh and his staff? I don't see it.
