MGoLateNight: Offensive MVP?
It's late, and probably only the West Coasters and youngins are awake, but I haven't seen much discussion on the matter. So flat out, who is your offensive MVP?
My vote is Ty Isaac. I thought he was consistent tonight and even though he didn't make any major plays, he plugged away and moved the chains. JBB was also thrown into the fire and came out as cold rolled steel, in my opinion.
I think a more educated opinion might point to the right side of the line, but I need to rewatch before drawing that conclusion.
So what say you?

On another note, I was hoping at this point we might see another TE emerging. Not that I don't love seeing Jake Butt getting the catches, but no one else seems like an option.

Ty's vision and patience created some amazing runs. I also noticed him blocking well. If his ball security wasn't shaky, he'd be the lead back.

So you noticed the half-ghost-fumble too? My heart skipped a beat on that one.

Glad he didn't drop that. For his sake, I'm not sure he would have ever found an open door out if the doghouse if he had dropped that...

w/ none longer than 13. 6.0 ypc ain't too shabby, especially when there aren't any big runs inflating the average.

I hope he rides the pine from here on out.

He's really playing well, and we needed him today.

Don't want to slam the kid, but I strongly disagree. He made one very nice throw tonight but needs to get a lot better before we roll into CBus. I think he will, though.

He was playing against a very solid defense, but 6.8 YPA simply won't work against OSU. But like I said, he's got a lot of time to get ready and I think he will get there.

I disagree. There was not a lot of separation between Michigan WRs and Wisconsin DBs all night. Coverage was very tight. Wisconsin's D is the real deal and was impressive at taking most Michigan routes away while still getting good pressure on Speight. They are not easy to throw the ball on.

Speight always seems to start out well then go in a funk for a bit. I did think that Harbaugh needed to throw more in this game. We'd run on first down for two yards then run again for another and then throw on 3rd and 7. If we'd throw a short pass on 1st down, we wouldn't have been behind the sticks.

Not that I was exactly pleased with his play overall tonight. He dug some holes for the team and only by the grace of god escaped major self-inflicted negative game-changers. I see the case for Isaac, at times clutch, yet his bobbling the ball gets him down voted. Some on the O line repose at the other end of the spectrum. BTW some of us work late and we are not young. Only beginning to drink a little at 2pm zulu. We won tonight dontcha know.

But you seem drunk already. Not judging, cause I am too.

I "p'd" when an "a" was appropriate for the "m." My bad, but I've done much worse to exhibit drunkeness. I actually watched the game sober, worked, and am just now headed for a brief sleep before working away. Cheers.

It was an odd game on offense. Several times in the first half, it seemed as if Michigan was taking total control of the game on both lines. Then Newsome got injured, the strange penalties started happening, pass protection broke down often, 3 FG were missed etc.
Those 14 pts felt a lot more like 28 when it was all said and done. Wisconsin was going to do nothing vs. the Michigan D.
Id go with Darboh as Offensive MVP. He had one bad drop for a would be first down, but had solid numbers and the TD otherwise. Good game for him.
