20 points is a really good spread. I know people are used to 35-40 point spreads this year, but colorado is a better team than ucf and definitely hawaii. a 34-10 victory or something like that would be great. remember, bama beat western kentucky 38-10. i get that they get a huge benefit of the doubt, but no one within the Michigan fanbase should be upset by a 20-point spread or 20+ pt win.

Colorado has won its first two games by impressive margins.  I expect Michigan to win, and probably win easily, but I expect this to be much more of a contest than the Hawaii or UCF.  It wouldn't surprise me if the final score is within 20 points.  I hope not, but that's my gut.

Idaho State, doesn't even have an ESPN team page.

Sagarin ranks them #203, sure-it's-early-there's-a-large-confidence-interval-around-that but that's Baby Seal U territory.  Colorado State hasn't played another game, so there isn't much of an observable there.  Note that it's the 2nd year for Head Coach Mike Bobo after the highly successful Jim McElwain departed for Florida, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to find the Jim McElwain momentum/effect starting to fade drastically.

It's interesting the things you can tell you miss the you're away from this board in the post game period. That being said, defensively we gave up too many chunk plays. We also didn't look crisp running the ball. Our opponent was completely outmatched, so it's hard to really glean useful information. Colorado will provide a little more resistance. I'll bet the line makes it up to -23.5 or -24.

Go back and watch that Akron game from a couple of years ago. The speed and intensity from then to now is remarkable. This is a much, much improved team. Everything is quicker and sharper.

Yeah you can stop the run if you load the box, problem is our receivers and tight end are virtually unguardable one on one and Speight will be in the heisman race before the season is over. We ran a vanilla scheme against UCF and still put up 50 points while letting the foot off the gas for most of the 2nd half. Colorado is a competant team but they've played nobody so far.

This game is giving me nightmares of 2003 Oregon. Colorado is much improved from recent years. A big M win will help me rest easy going into Big Ten play.

Don't be a cuck.

  1. We have 10x a better coaching staff than we did back then.
  2. We're playing at home which gives an advantage now that The Big House is loud.
  3. Our coaches don't allow complacency and this is the biggest non-conference game. The team will be ready.
  4. Oregon was ranked in 2003 and was decent in recent years. colorado lost to Hawaii last year.
  5. HARBAUGH

Seriously, man. Lloyd Carr would've farted around for most of the first half Saturday and we would've won 35-14.

No one is taking colorado lightly.

Overall they are not a good team. CFU has better team speed than CO.  I think Michigan will end up wining this 49-20.  I remember how everyone was fretting about how BYU and how they were going to beat us at home and we ended destroying them.

Michigan could be playing Pioneer High School and people here would worry. So many chicken littles in this fan base. By the way, Bama averaged a whopping 3.2 YPC against WKU on Saturday. Guess that means their OL sucks too right?

Do people here actually know anything about football? Harbaugh didn't even make it to page 2 of the playbook and played a fairly vanilla defense once the game was out of reach (He also did this on offense last year vs UNLV and in the 2nd half of the BYU and NW games). Even UCF's 87 yard TD run was a product of McCray getting held and then compounded by Dymonte Thomas taking a bad angle. More concerned about them being disciplined in their rush lanes and not allowing those big QB runs. Sometime I think Don Brown blitzes too much.

Harbaugh and staff are so good and we have so much talent that everyone expects us to destroy every team.  I admit I'm definitely on the hype train and think this team can have an amazing season.  I think people just need to take a step back and let the season unfold.

especially early in these mismatches. His D has as much work as any other unit and repitition and learning how to "maximize efficiency" on these blitzes is a very important aspect of the overall agression. There are moments, like third and long where you might want to pull off one of your would-be blitzers for pass pro, but when you run a agressive defense as your staple, it should be perfected, not minimized.

Consider an up tempo offense. it's great when all parts are in sync. That is what Brown is trying to do right now and we really couldn't ask for better opposition for him to decide exactly who should come, who has problems with certain packages, etc., in order that he have the best personnel on the field for each individual package. That's my opinion .

I don't really get the dismissive attitude toward Colorado though.

Like Michigan, they've only given up 2 TDs in the first two game, outscoring their opponents 100-14, including their rival, Colorado State 44-7. They are 9th in the nation in total yards (Michigan is 54th).

They are better than last year, when they only lost to Utah by 6 and USC by a field goal in games in November.

Do I think Michigan is better and will win? Yes. But the Buffaloes are no slouches.

Colorado seems much improved. But then again, so did Northwestern last year. And remember we were also saying these kinds of things before the BYU game. I don't doubt that we'll win, but whether it's a comfortable win or an uncomfortable one is still in question. Really it's going to come down to whether we adjust and account for losing contain on QB delays, scrambles and edge run plays.

I wonder how they set this line with so much uncertainty regarding our injuries such as Lewis, Charlton, and Mone. I also feel like I saw hurst limping around too on the sideline.
