Afternoon Games Open Thread

Submitted by uncle leo on

South Alabama just won at Mississippi State (???)

Western Michigan won at Northwestern.

Oklahoma is in deep trouble at Houston.

MOD EDIT - we can just open this up to be the open thread for other afternoon games. - LSA

I'm trying to give that LSU lineman the benefit of the doubt. Like maybe he didn't think the play was over. But he went reeeaallll high on that guy so fuck that. Absolutely deserved that ejection.

"Will this loss hurt LSU's playoff chances?"

"No, not at all. It's not a conference game."

Didn't have to wait for Finebaum to get the spin, and it won't even really be spin. The SEC is the best conference by definition, regardless of results, and its champion gets into the playoffs regardless of record.

That's their alternate color.

AFAIK all (ten) University of California system schools  are basically blue & gold/yellow. UCLA started wearing the powder (keg) blue under Red Sanders in 1949, when it was still known as Southern Branch, University of California. (I think the script UCLA and the clarendon font numbers are from the early 50s as well).

Since the late 90s they've been playing around with various shades and combinations, which a lot of UCLA fans are none too happy with.

unfortunately not guaranteed to be top 5. depends on what happens with clemson, alabama, and fsu. also a few teams a few spots below us have yet to play. obviously I'd love to see it ... just don't think it's guaranteed.

All game long the announcers completely expected LSU to, at some point, flip the switch and dominate the game, oblivious to the fact that they were not a good team and Wisconsin was.

A&M wins in OT. SEC finally gets a big win this weekend, but A&M did not look great doing it. They're gonna lose a few games this year.

Also Josh Rosen is incredibly overrated.
