no, No, NO!!!
We do NOT need individual Sparty threads on MGoBlog...just make a thread for all CFB games tonight. MSU vs. Furman isn't special, MSU vs. OSU or MSU vs. ND is certainly understandable for obvious reasons. Just like last night when 3 App St./Tenn threads pop up because the first thread was devoted to the B1G.
Just make it all college football and keep the conversation in one thread. This way MSU vs. Furman folks can get the score of say...KSU vs. Stanford and vice versa. Can't we all just be together?
What's wrong with the old fashioned "College Football Open Thread?"

I prefer our rivals questioning their manlihood after humiliating defeats against teams far inferior to them.

Last I heard, most predictive sites were optimistically giving Furman about a 1.0% chance of winning, and I think that might only be because giving an answer less than one would just look weird on the page.
However, it is a non-zero chance, however small, right?

so I wouldn't get my hopes up. F

Furman's not a mid-major that might be good. They're more likely to be closer to Baby Seal U. Maybe Furman can receive the opening kickoff and keep it tied for five minutes.

Furman actually beat the team we play next weekend.
Yes, UCF is that bad.

I don't think them going 0-12 last year and losing to a bottom of the barrel FCS team was a fluke.
September 2nd, 2016 at 7:32 PM ^
And yet, while Michigan was struggling to win five games in 2014, UCF won nine. 2013, with Michigan struggling to seven wins, UCF had 12. Those aren't flukes either.

than that and just imploded/mailed it in.
I don't follow them, but I think just brooming the coach that obviously lost the team and bring in a new coach gets them 3 or 4 wins this year. (Without even knowing anything about the coach.)

Even with that, from 2007-2015 Central Florida has a better over all record. Over the last ten seasons the record is more even with both teams having 73 wins and UM with 51 losses edging out CF with their 56.
I don't know how much zero losses had to do with an aged HC taking extra naps or they just don't have the players. This I do know, Scott Frost will hold nothing back and will have his boys prepared as well as possible to meet Michigan. Besides, I love the indirect historical significance of Scott Frost coaching a team against Michigan.

+1 to you, sir

for a ranked team facing a team that has a chance in the realm of possibility of winning. (Stanford is favored by 11.5, if memory serves).

I will take very little from this game. They have not looked good in any of their openers the last several years or heck in any of their years. They show weaknesses and holes in their opener yet by mid October they are rolling along. I will just watch and root for Furman but won't get too excited if msu looks like garbage tonite.

Stanford vs. Kansas State later
Colorado vs. Colorado State
(I don't want to mention that team down in Waco; they don't get recognition on this board)

Caught part of the MSU pregame show on the radio and what do you know? Logically, they were talking about Michigan. Taking shots at the satellite camps and "just not understanding" all the hype. It's like okay guys, I thought OSU was your main rival now.
Tyler O'Connor throws 3 picks tonight.

I usually have my car tuned to the local ESPN affiliate. So, when I started my car instead of ESPN, I got propaganda.
