Hello: Someone? Anyone?
I was just thinking that it's been a while now since we've seen one of Brian's famous "Hello: [New Commit]" posts on the main page. I do realize that NSD is right around the corner, and that there will be a deluge soon, but I was just wondering if our resident experts had any thoughts (or insights) on who and when the next commits might be that might come before then. Is there anyone we can reasonably expect before NSD, or will things be quiet until then?
Also, I sure hope that people don't take this as a "what's the update on such and such player" type threads; that's not what I meant. I'm more interested on the timeline of when we can expect to start hearing news.

You do realize that >90% of these guys have already made their intentions well-known, right? Just wait until NSD. There aren't many surprises left.

You do realize that 100% of the players that haven't made up their mind that we're still recruiting haven't made their intentions well-known, right? Thus, the point of the question. There are a lot of surprises left. Just go look at a site like Magnus's if you think otherwise.

Stop pimping out my site.
It's for members only, just like my jacket.

I am willing to bet there will be plenty of surprises come NSD.

I think somewhere along the lines between bowls and NSD there is a dead period. Correct me if I'm wrong but that might be why we haven't seen as much movement as in past weeks/months.
January 15th, 2010 at 3:29 PM ^
Yeah, it ended yesterday. That's why I'm thinking that movement should start again within the next day or two, or more accurately probably by the end of the weekend visits.

He's going to commit on NSD to the University of Michigan.

Let's not neg SevenMile... I assume he's just hoping via authoritive factual statements.
It's the Stuart Smalley take on recruiting... go ahead, try it, you can do it.... your good enough:
"Sean Parker is going to commit on NSD to the University of Michigan."
Feel good, doesn't it.
Here's another... "Seantreal Henderson is the secret OL recruit that is coming for a UM visit."

According to my calender, you should wait about 19 days for a nice Hello post.

long boring offseason.
Oh wait its been the offseason a while now.
Damn it.
January 15th, 2010 at 3:44 PM ^
is rumored to be the next commit. Could happen this weekend.
He is in the 2011 class though.

The calm before the storm. Things will get ugly/pretty real fast. Remember saying this to yourself:
I'm all but positive that Pearlie Graves and DaQuinta Jones are going to stay Blue! They're just looking...
The coaching staff is all about Barnes for the future ILB spot.
Too bad that Roundtree is staying with Purdue and Shaw is all about Penn St.
The coaches were thinking of giving a last minute throw-away offer to a 2 or 3 star OL from G. R. named Huyge... but I think he's destined for the MAC.
Les Miles assured Jai Eugene that UofM was the perfect fit for him and he should stick with his commitment. (Okay, so no one ever said that... but you get the point)
January 15th, 2010 at 3:56 PM ^
You're absolutely right. There are sure to be a ton of surprises to come, both good and bad.
January 15th, 2010 at 4:08 PM ^
Not sure about Jones or Graves, but I kind of wish we had Barnes right now!

The only "Hello new commit" of any types we had last year between Jan 15th and NSD were Greg Robinson and Quinton Washington who announced the day before NSD.
January 15th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
Too bad Greg Robinson didn't have any eligibility left... we could of used him at one of the ILB spots.
January 15th, 2010 at 4:28 PM ^
I guess Je'Ron Stokes didn't count then?
January 15th, 2010 at 4:59 PM ^
Didn't Denard Robinson come out wearing a Florida hat on NSD last year only to commit to Michigan moments later? There are always fun (and not fun, if you play DT) signing day surprises
EDIT: I see that he meant between signing day and the 15th, not including signing day. Still, the "signing day is fun" stuff stands
January 15th, 2010 at 5:58 PM ^
Je'ron was coming over to the good guys, but there was still plenty of doubt until he actually committed on NSD, so no... in the context I thought we were talking about, he didn't count.

Hello: Devin Gardner
January 15th, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
There will probably be at least one "Hello:" post this weekend.
January 15th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
Tim, I am so sorry. I just realized that I should have said Brian or Tim's "Hello:" posts. I remember that you've been doing a number of them this year and I should have said that. Sorry about that!
