One Frame At A Time: Michigan State

There's a non-SPORTS version, too. No other GIFs were deemed necessary. Watch the girl two seats to the left of the kid flipping the bird; if anything good came from this game, it's the beautiful, expletive-laden love story that began at that moment.

Ace -
In all seriousness I would love to see a GIF collection of all the bad officiating from this game. Even if I believe the refs erred in Sparty's favor overall, I thought it was just a horrific display of officiating in general and would love to see all of their idiocy documented in GIF format.
By my unofficial list (which is skewed by being at the game and not watching a replay), here are the questionable calls.
Favoring Michigan:
- Refs pick up a block-in-the-back flag that looked like something typically called and rarely picked up.
- PI call on a play when Chesson and the DB get tangled up and he was probably overthrown anyway since that's how long passes go.
- FB 80-yard run being called back to the 1-foot line
- TD on the third try when forward progress should have been stopped and reply upholds the call.
- Uh......I thought there were more.......
Favoring MSU:
- Targeting on Bolden
- PI call on the play where MSU WR bumps into ref
- Too many men on D
- Encroachment penalty where D supposedly caused MSU OL to jump
- Personal foul on Henry for piling on despite late whistle
- Toe-drag on sideline despite two refs calling him out
- Butt catch that would have been upheld if nearby official didn't get overruled by an official from far away
- Both initial replay over-turns at the goal-line
- Phantom holding goal when we would have had first and goal
- Facemask call on Rudock that went uncalled
I realize that replay actually got some of these correct. That doesn't change the fact that the call on the field was screwed up to force a replay and completely break up the game into long periods of sitting around. The point is to show how inept the refs were and how they affected a good game between two good teams both ways.
I'm also not including the obvious un-called holding penalties because while gross screw-ups, I'm sure there could be a ton of missed or un-called holding throughout the game.

Thank you Bird-man, for showing the world how I felt, too.

It's a great gif. I also really liked the reaction by the announcers. "Woah woah... uhh..." then silence.
