..fairly consistent in dismissing Michigan's success. Greenstein voted Northwestern #5 leading up to the Michigan game and laughed at Stanley Jackson for even mentioning that M 'might' run the table.

The writers/media should stop voting Sparty so high if they want to make excuses for them when they lose. It's not fair to M's student/athletes to have an asterisk next to their wins.

after a win this weekend, for there to be a gigantic bowl of potato chips on the table in the interview room where Dantonio/Cook/RandomMSUPlayer will speak. Or for someone in the stands to hand Jabril a can of Pringles on his way off the field.

I can understand fans having a chip on their shoulder. After all any long time fan would remember the dominance of UM in this series.

But why do the MSU players have a chip on their shoulders? Is it because they feel disrespected? C'mon, they've won the last 2 and 6 of the last 7. I think it seems they have won respect at least to some degree. If nothing else Sparty has won our ire and our attention.

For all that I don't care about respecting them. The way they've played the game during the Rodriguez and Hoke era I don't care one iota about them. They played like spoiled little baby brothers who finally got big enough to whoop up on their big brother and they're just gonna keep doing it until he stands up and thrashes them.

For all that when they lose this weekend they will resort to being exactly what they make fun of us about as they remind us how many they've won in the last 8 years.

I never got their need for respect. Isn't winning enough? Why do you need to win and then also have us tell you how deserving you are of the win? If we win on Saturday, I don't think anyone here is going to need Michigan State people - fans, players, or coaches - to say how great we are again. That just isn't the nature of this kind of rivalry.

The writer at least a couple times references Fritz Crisler beating MSU in 1954... But he retired from coaching after 1947. Oosterbaan was our head coach at during that time period

Sparty shoulders come pre-chipped.

When a new sparty is forged in the great trash tornadoes of EL, the finished product walks out of the rubbish with two perfectly chipped shoulders.

I don't care what Marcus Ray said to be PC. The hit he did on loudmouth Boston in "The Game" in 97...was bad assery as it gets...
