OT: Do you believe in UFOs?

Submitted by sheepdog on

Maybe the better question - do you beleive in otherworld beings? Aliens? Are we being spied on? Are some "people" reptilian? Are you reptilian?

My stance? I don't really know, but there is too much evidence for it to be a flat out "no."

Note: This is meant to be a slow July, no football, WAY OT, fun discussion.  So Neg me, Pos me, post a GIF, whatever.

Friday Friendly Discusion... GO.

as far as having ever been "visited", etc. However, I think it's almost impossible to say there isn't other life out there and life that would have or very likely exceed our level of intelligence. I mean, if a species did reach us from the depths of space....what would they have in common with us? If we have been found or visited I think they'd see us the way we see ants, bugs, etc. We don't often pay any mind or respect to their intelligence do why would they if they've encountered many other forms of life? That scares me, tbh. It scares me to think we have this insane ego about ourselves but we may be the bottom of the "intelligent beings of the universe" food chain. I hope we are because humans are mostly evil (lol) but I also hope we're at least below average. A "C-" haha

My aunt swears till the day she died that in Southern California she saw one hover above her house and shine some kind off light.

There is just to many things that go unexplained to think there is nothing out there.

UFO's are the galaxy's urban explorers.  They see a shitty, run down planet and have to take a look.  Then the ones with common sense get the hell out before having any contact with those who dwell here.

No, because like the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot and Chupacabra, they only exist in people's heads.

However, there is most certainly "life" on other planets.

Google the UFO sightings in Dexter, MI. It was national news. Somewhere in YouTube there is a long investigative report by Mike Wallace in the subject. I think it was linked in the alumni magazine about a year ago. I'm in my phone so I can't link it.

anythign within billions of miles and we'd have overheard EM communications.  Our radio signals, for example, have travelled billions of miles.  I'm sure there's life out there, just not Star Trek worthy.

To me it's only logical that there is alien life. Most of your ancient creation stories are all roughly the same and these people never talked to each other. They all pretty much say we were made by the gods/aliens and then we were given something by a small faction of them (fire, knowledge, etc) that pissed off the majority.

Some of the cave drawings are pretty clear of objects in the sky and non-human beings interacting with humans. It only makes sense to me that it is all based on some sort of factual events.

Without getting off into religion, just take any story you see that talks about "god/gods" and replace the word with "alien/aliens" and see how much different the stories sound.
