Harbaugh's hat worth $1 million to Nike
Considering how much camera time he gets and how often he throws his hat, makes sense that a Michigan hat with the Nike logo could be worth a million a year to them.

Harbaugh's second day on campus, he said he wanted Nike. I have no doubt he'll wear a Michigan hat with the swoosh on the side in 2016.
Here's Nike's Bo hat from 2006.

For the most part, it's a great hobby and he's not hurting himself or anyone else.
By talking to you on Twitter, he is hurting you, giving you some assurance that MGoJohnStamos is not a totally weird, creepy and repulsive online moniker.
Hold on a minute pard, Mini Me is a Michigan fan, Russell Crowe is a Michigan fan, Kate Upton is a Michigan fan, how in the unholy fuck do you know that's not the real Stamos posting?
Are you saying it's creepy for Stamos to be Stamos & be a Michigan fan and proudly display it and post here about Michigan?
Or, what if on the off chance that's not the real Stamos, but it's some wife or gf of his posting as both a fan of her man & the Michigan Men? Who else would this really be other than a Stamos or almost Stamos? Jeez..
1. I think some people are jealous of him.
2. I think some people think he is wasting his time.
3. I think others just think he's obnoxious. He can post things talking down to people.
He has hobbies. You should check out his superguide.

Why do you insist on calling it "the Bo hat"? It's a hat with a block M on it.
Picker of nits, the M on the hat Harbaugh wears is identical in design to the one Bo wore.
Therefore, it is the Bo hat.
But Bo simply wore a Michigan baseball hat.

But . . but . . . that Nike hat is not the "official" maize.
Serious though . . . I want me a throw back hat!
(1) the M is some new wave 3D feature that sticks out way too far.
(2) the forehead slopes at an unusual angle. The Bo hat obviously doesn't climb up the brow from the brim at a 90-degree angle (along the midsagittal line), but is much closer to that than this.

I want a hat with a normal curve. I'm not a collar popping, cargo short wearing frat boy from the east coast.
If that's not a normal curve, what is?

Personally I prefer a fatter 'M' but it's tradition:

I would love to see the metrics used to determine the value of the exposure and how much additional exposure JH brings. Also I'm guessing marketters aren't the best at math

I am a Director of Marketing and have a BSE from Michigan in Aerospace Engineering. At worst, I am pretty good at math.
There is a load of number crunching in marketing. The amount of data generated from cross-channel campaigns and product development can be quite staggering.

...your marketing career won't get very far.
In every marketing job I've ever seen posted (real marketing job, not some psuedo-named marketing role) quantitative and analytical skill are very high on the list of desired qualifications. Any company worth its salt asks its prospective marketers to demonstrate how they use data to inform their decision-making.

Managing Partner Eric Smallwood estimates Michigan's football team will generate $10.7 million in exposure during the regular season if Harbaugh doesn't wear a hat and $11.6 million if he wears a hat with a visible logo.
It seems like something only Jim Harbaugh and a select few could manage, generating nearly an extra million just by putting on a hat. I don't see him wandering around the sideline without one really though, at least not but once in a rare while, so that might be almost money in the bank potentially, if the estimate is correct (the hype and interest alone - as evidenced by just this site, other corners of the fandom aside for a second - makes me think $1 million is conservative).
