I've been frequenting MGoBlog for about 3 years now and was an MGoBlogVoyeur for a couple of years prior. As users came and went during that time, occasional introductions were made amongst the user folk hereabouts. I've noticed a bit of turnover over the last few months and thought it may be interesting for everyone to share a bit of background. So, if you're inclined...

Me;
On the precipice of 50.
Marketing Director.
Born in TC, but live in MN now.
L.S.A. Class of '88.
The most MICHIGAN thing? I committed a foul against Gilvani Johnson in an intramural basketball game. The foul prevented him from completing a slam dunk. This turned out to be my team's sole victory in an otherwise not so closely contested 119-42 loss.

Most MICHIGAN thing you've ever done? (funny, memorable, etc.) Snuck into the Big House at 1AM and played football. We got a whole hour in before being run off.
Back in the day, you could get into the stadium any time -- it used to be part of my usual running route, not to mention an occasional late-night destination.
I think my senior year (07-08) was probably the last year you could really sneak in as a late night destination. They kept everything locked, but we found a tree next to the fence on the on the Crisler side that was helpful in getting over the fence.
Depending on the security guard's enthusiasm and weather, you could get a lot of time in on the field. It was pretty epic after a fresh snow.
The best part is that the security lights were bright enough for you to see pretty well. I'm sure it's totally different now. Thanks, Dave Brandon.

Washington, DC.
UMLS, JD, '06.
I won't read the freep, ever, no matter what. I don't view that as any loss though, as I subscribed for a week when I first got to A2 in 2003 and quickly realized it was the worst major-city newspaper I had ever read, which was really saying something. I also gave the Dolphin Puncher's book a terrible review on Amazon and feel no shame about it.

Most Michigan thing: Watched Braylon-Fest at friends house. His parents went to MSU, his older sister was at MSU, and he was planning on (and did) go to MSU. As much as I wanted to, I kept my celebrating down and very classy (which was mature beyond my years (I was a Sophomore in HS)).
(Honorable mention): Went to the Big Chill. Have the ticket in with a framed photo from the game.

No, EMU, WSU Law and Notre Dame (currently pursing EMBA). I'm from Ann Arbor/Ypsi, and attended Huron before dropping out. Received a full UM football uniform, complete with pads and helmet, at the age of 3 and have been a super fan since.
Most MICHIGAN thing I've ever done? Saved Braylon's hands and Michigan's football season! He was going bezerk at our frat house party when he punched through our glass door. I pulled Bray to the side to remind him how important his hands were to his future. We laugh about it to this day when we cross paths.
Lived by Des Howard as a middle schooler and hung out near his crib to catch a glimse of him ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME...and his girlfriend...

Most MICHIGAN thing you've ever done?:
I went to the '92 and '93 Final Fours. (Or, post-sanctions, maybe I didn't actually?) The Fab Five were my class at Michigan. But I grew up a big UM fan, going to football and basketball games since I was five years old (grandpa worked the ticket window at Crisler for a while), so the '92 and '93 Final Fours were my ultimate fantasy trip. Wish that fantasy had ended with a win, particularly in '93. Remember getting laughed at and a lot of time outs yelled at me by UNC fans on Bourbon Street after the game. Ugh.

Best moment: Toss up between storming court and meeting Lloyd Carr when we knocked off #3 Duke a few years back, or when we followed the MBB team bus to the airport in Happy Valley and spent a few minutes talking to Beilien, Burke, Novak and company.

Location: split my time between a co-op in NYC and a house on Long Island. I work from home now, when I'm not in DC, which is nice at my age.
Alum: MA and PhD in political science
Most Michigan thing I've done? Whenever I am giving a presentation at an agency in DC, I make sure I am wearing a Michigan tie. More often than not, I discover I'm not the only UM alum in the room.
Is the best at any age. People ask me what my commute is and my response is "however long it takes me to stumble to the coffee maker"
I often realize it's lunch time and I'm still in my bathrobe.
I actually think I work a lot more, since I wake up and work out and basically just start working. And I don't waste time with a commute. But I love what I do so it's not a problem.
I end up working more, too. I had a video conference yesterday and had to wear pants and a collared shirt. It felt weird.
