Chengelis on Start of Spring Practice
While Harbaugh certainly will have a better idea what his personnel is like and where the puzzle pieces will fit, expect him to come up with a depth chart written in easily erasable pencil by the end of spring practices.
Perhaps more important for the players the next few weeks is to display a level of toughness Harbaugh enthusiasts believe he instantly will bring. Playing with toughness is something that has distinguished Harbaugh teams in the past, and unquestionably he intends to instill that at Michigan.
Here's a look at what to watch during the spring:

I look at the roster and there is exceptional talent from top to bottom. Yes, this team is young but they are experienced for thier age. If anyone can pull them together into an ass kicking machine it's Harbaugh.
Go Blue! .

For three things...
1. Comments about how fast or intense practices are (we got that with Rich Rod, we got that with Hoke, we got that with Nuss)
2. Comments about how things are simplified.
3. For comments that shed light on the previous regime and make you want to bash your head against the wall. Kalis saying stuff like "I've learned more this spring than I had my entire career" or Green saying stuff like "I feel like this staff really emphasizes just reacting and playing football rather than thinking and patience, we're aggressive now." You know, those comments that make you go, ARRRGH!!!!!! and UMPHHHH!!!!!!

Agree.
Toughness is the new manball around these parts.
Bottom line is winning. Good players, playing fast = winning. Every football player has a lot of toughness to play, its a brutal sport. What has been lacking here is mental toughness more than "toughness".

Actions are what matters. Harbaugh wil regain full control of this program and everyone will know that including the coaches and players. A new day truly begins.

Toughness is nice. But will they retain their physicalness from the Hoke era?

and such recall Hackett's talk about 'swim lanes,' and it sounds like the squad's internal competition for playing time is going to be intense.

Coach Harbaugh has said in several different ways since he's been hired that it's all about results, wins/losses, etc. He hasn't talked about what they hope to win, when they hope to win it, etc. Just made it very clear that he wants to see results and will judge everyone by their performance. Love it, because the talk never matters in the end, but the results do.
