OT: Golson May Transfer to LSU
January 5th, 2015 at 3:17 PM ^
I really think LSU is unraveling at the seams. Chavis leaves due to rifts in the coaching staff, dumpster fire offense, and SEC west bros catching up on talent.

That dumpster fire had 7 guys drafted last year. Hard for any program to turn around with so much youth.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:32 PM ^
Eh, they were young this year. They're still getting a crap ton of talent. They're 15th in recruiting rankings, and they're tied with the second-most 5-stars (4) behind Alabama and equal with Florida State.

Not a bad get for Les at all given the lack of QBs LSU had this year.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:00 PM ^
This is a pretty good fit for both of them.
January 5th, 2015 at 5:29 PM ^
To me, this would be a great "fit," in an ironic sense: a coach who frustrates QB's and a QB who frustrates coaches. Since the NOLA area is my home now, I am going to be going through a lot of popcorn next season if this really happens.

Les + Everett = Offensive Jugger-NOT!

Getting out of the way of Zaire. Probably smart.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:40 PM ^
we don't play ND next year. Zaire looks elite.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:19 PM ^
would he consider here?
January 5th, 2015 at 3:21 PM ^
Don't want.

He also has a bad habit of consistently hitting defenders righ in the chest.

If the team was for it, I would support it.
However, this isn't like replacing parts in a car. There are people involved. The team is already dealing with another new coaching staff and another new system. To then bring in a new QB from a hated rival to be a leader in our locker room could be bad for morale and team dynamic.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:34 PM ^
You mean other than reportedly cheating and getting suspended for a year? Would admissions even allow him in with that on his record?
January 5th, 2015 at 4:26 PM ^
I still don't get this "we don't have a QB" thing. Everyone regressed under Hoke. None of us know anything more than what the talent was believed to be when it came in.
People jumping ship on Morris and Speight is blowing my mind. Give them a chance with actual coaches with track records of improved QB play. If they still make no strides, or regress further, then feel free to preach all you want about how we have no QB.

I can't stand the SEC, but LSU has Miles so I pull for him. I hope they can get Golson and beat Alabama.

Worked for Alabama for a while.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:27 PM ^
If he does in fact do this, then it is an interesting move for Golson and if we found him starting in that last week of August or thereabouts, that actually would not shock me given their situation at the moment. Actually, Golson in LSU's normal run offense with the threat of a pass could actually make them a lot more dangerous, I think.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:32 PM ^
This made me chuckle. The SEC would need to provide an academic waiver for a graduate of Notre Dame to play at LSU. Really?!
The report also states that LSU is considering the transfer, but it would need to receive a waiver from the SEC since Golson was declared academically ineligible and missed the entire 2013 season.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:46 PM ^
Dude, that's just a formality. They have to go by the book.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:03 PM ^
This is the book.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:15 PM ^
I am more shocked at the fact that the SEC has rules.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:22 PM ^
be too hard for them to waive the academics.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:28 PM ^
He got caught cheating. That goes beyond academic standards.
January 5th, 2015 at 5:45 PM ^
Of course, it's the high ethical standards of the SEC that is the real issue.
Whew, okay, I've finally caught my breath after laughing hysterically.

Double post..
I won't be upset or suprised if Golson leaves...
January 5th, 2015 at 6:08 PM ^
Golson has a super high ceiling, any team would be crazy not to take him. JT Barrett's season this year constantly reminded me of Golson from 2 years ago.
