This is the descending # of points M has scored against Sparty since 2008. We have not scored a TD against Sparty since the 2011 season (3 years ago). Does the trend continue? After watching OSU destroy Rutgers yesterday I say yes, but then Sparty had trouble in Bloomington so I am cautiously optimistic. Thoughts?

Dave Brandon is in a bunker and has to type those numbers into a computer, every hour, to stop the Big House from blowing up.

hope for a competitive game. UM could break out any game, right?....right?

Excel says we score 2 this year, and then -1.78 next year.
Pretty sure 1 more year of Hoke and that will be accurate.

And thank God for Drew Dileo. If it weren't for his miracle 20-yard catch in 2012, we'd be look at seven straight losses to MSU. Think about that for a minute.

It was a clutch catch, but not a miracle. That kind of catch happens all the time.
Now, Roy Roundtree's catch against Northwestern later that year, that was miraculous.

Given how poorly we had been moving the ball that day, a 20-yard pass with 18 seconds left in the game to get us into field-goal range seemed miraculous at the time.

We gained 326 yards of offense that day. It wasn't easy to move the ball, but not quite the struggle you're making it out to be.

Going by trends, we should've kept Rich Rod!
'08: 3 wins
'09: 5 wins
'10: 7 wins
'11: 9 wins
'12: 11 wins
'13: 13 wins
'14: 15 wins
This would be the year we win the B1G Championship, and the playoff games! WHO DECIDED TO FIRE THIS MAN ERGGHHHHHHH

Hoke, then:
'11: 11 wins
'12: 8 wins
'13: 7 wins
'14: 4 wins
'15: 3 wins
'16: 0 wins
'17: -1 wins

One of those wins in '15 won't be against MSU, since we'll score negative points that game if things keep up!

At least we have Coach Funk - the best offensive line coach in the country - to make sure our running game mauls MSU. We need more coaches like Coach Funk.

Or Is this a metaphor for our chances on Saturday?

...we're screwed. Oregon has the template to beat Sparty. Just go, go, go. If you keep their guys on the field and snap the ball quickly, it gives their defense less time to set up and figure out what you're doing.
It may at least keep us in the game for a half. Tressel outcoached us in 2006 when he opened up the offense and it took us a half to regroup. Maybe Nuss can have a similar plan in mind.

we havent scored a TD against them in 3 years. Can we just beat that goal? I will call it a success.
