Thursday night football - open thread

Submitted by Voltron is Handsome on

For anyone who wants to get away from the ridiculousness that is the Michigan football program for a night, there is football to watch tonight. Tonight's slate features:

UCF at Houston, 7:00 on ESPN

Florida Atlantic at Florida International, 7:00 and not on television

Arizona at Oregon, 10:30 on ESPN

I'm not a big NFL fan, but the Vikings play in Green Bay at 8:30 on NFL Network.

Arizona is gonna have a hard time with their o-line down two right now....  was looking like a good game, but they're gonna have to get fancy with the offense....

I don't see it going well for arizona after that last injury... their offense hasn't been able to do shit since they lost another front man.

The last 4 weeks as the schedule has probably been the worst in the past 20 years. No lie. It's been AWFUL.

Get ready for 4 weeks of AMAZING matchups...starting this week.

I'm not sure how I'm going to watch all of this, I'm going to have to pull out the multiple TVs.

This is why all the b/s Hoke/Brandon stuff needs to go away, too much good football this weekend.

Arizona tempoing Oregon and getting to the line to figure out what the defense is giving. It's like mana in the desert. Oh well I guess they have a case of the turnovers over. Point still stands that offense is pretty dang good.

Skipping UM altogether eh? hah

Miss State is 12? wow

Not much interesting in the Pac 12 - but the resst of the slate is solid.  The Ole Miss v Alabama will be interesting to see how legit Hugh Freeze's team is.  Hoping Stanford ransacks ND.

At least they didnt put all the decent game at 8 pm this week.

Go Terps!

I don't feel like wasting another Saturday. Last weekend was a disaster, I can't do that again, that was unhealthy.

I'll just tape it...enjoy my day and night and have fun and smile for once. It's just too good of a slate to piss it away with this nonsense right now. Like I said, I'll watch Sunday morning since I rarely watch the NFL preview stuff all morning. It'll give me something to do.

I'm sure the Open thread is going to be out of control on Saturday night too, all the drinking and after this week...just a bunch of jackwagons who never post, but all of a sudden want to come on the site and act ridiculous.

Probably better just to enjoy the day and stay away.

Hey, maybe I'll drive to the bay. What do ya say?

...I really don't think I'm going to watch our game live.

That's just too good of a day for college football. I don't want to ruin it with frustrations from Michigan. You don't even get bowl days that are this good.

I think I'll just DVR it and watch it on Sunday morning.

That's 2 "can't miss" games in each viewing block...plus the 2 west coast games for the nightcap which are always fun (like tonight).

I'd much rather watch those as a college football fan and just trick myself into thinking we have a bye. I'll watch Sunday morning before NFL and it'll be a great weekend of football assuming we win.
