Thursday night football - open thread
For anyone who wants to get away from the ridiculousness that is the Michigan football program for a night, there is football to watch tonight. Tonight's slate features:
UCF at Houston, 7:00 on ESPN
Florida Atlantic at Florida International, 7:00 and not on television
Arizona at Oregon, 10:30 on ESPN
I'm not a big NFL fan, but the Vikings play in Green Bay at 8:30 on NFL Network.

I'm watching the NFL game hoping I didn't make a mistake benching Cordarrelle Patterson this week, but looking at the weather.... I should be good in my fantasy match up this week.
I'm also going to watch the Arizona & Oregon game until the 2nd quarter because it will likely be over by that point.
October 2nd, 2014 at 8:29 PM ^
That's what everyone said last year.... until 00:00 came up on the scoreboard and it looked like exactly the opposite of what everyone had predicted... I'm just hoping for a good game.
Cognitive dissosance with RR haters IMO... I'm gonna keep liking the guy because I think the way he was treated in A2 with the beginning of the loss of integrity of this program. Right now I am sitting here wondering if there is any integrity left with Brandon and Hoke both obviously lying and negligent in their actions --- and nothing is being done. If there was integrity, they'd be gone already.

Yay Rodgers.

Pretty impressive defensive play by UCF to win the game.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:34 PM ^
whoa Billy Sims sighting.
Did I mentioned that the Vikings blow 3 hrs ago? Indeed.

Wow, even Oregon has trouble filling their student section. #2 in the country and a good 3-5k seats still available up top
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:01 PM ^
And yet I bet they don't know or care who their AD is.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:46 PM ^
I thought RR couldn't do defense?
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:51 PM ^
Yet Arizona's kicker just made a nice fg in a hostile environment..
Sigh

Maybe it has something to do with being given the tools you're needed and not being sabotaged and criticized every step of the way when having to start a team full of true freshmen/sophomores
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
Dat you coach Hoke?
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
It pisses me off that the school was too cheap to bring in Casteel with RR.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:03 PM ^
Heisman candidate in RR's offense by now.

They gave up fewer points per game and fewer yards per play last year than Michigan did.
October 3rd, 2014 at 12:56 AM ^
you?
Because according to the NCAA's stats, Michigan gave up 4.93 yards per play and 320 yards per game while Arizona gave up 5.98 yards per play and nearly 500 yards a game.

You're looking at the stats from the 2012 season. The NCAA site doesn't have the 2013 stats archived yet.

He can when the school isn't too cheap to hire his DC with him.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:46 PM ^
Oregon setting the record tonight for the ugliest uniforms in history
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:49 PM ^
Why does Arizona's HC talk so much and why is he wearing headphones?
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:51 PM ^
Must be his wife's famous nacho dip.
October 3rd, 2014 at 2:09 AM ^
How does he do it without any clapping and butt-slapping?
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:50 PM ^
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:53 PM ^
Oregon can't be dropping passes in a game like this.

Doesn't that Cal/Arizona hail mary look eerily familiar?
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
Get em RR!
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
quick and powerful.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:06 PM ^
Everyone on Arizona looks ready to play. They won't be getting run off the field tonight.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
Eerily enough, I'm rooting for him.

The first step towards progress is Acceptance.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:06 PM ^

October 2nd, 2014 at 11:08 PM ^
Wellllllllllll, we rush really good in practice.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:13 PM ^
Is that seriously a joke though? We got dominated by minnesota at home... could you imagine what we'd look like in Eugene?

Didnt realize Fisher was hurt. He was their RT when their All Conference LT was hurt preseason, and moved to the LT. So now they dont have either tackle playing.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:09 PM ^
That injury is a bummer......
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:10 PM ^
No wait, that's Cayman Bundage.

impressed so far with casteel's 3-3-5...I'm sure Oregon will still put up 40+ but makes me think what would've happened if we didn't cheap out on Casteel.

Still early but this doesnt look like a top 5 team to the eye test.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:16 PM ^
They can't run. Even Oregon needs to be able to run to win games.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:13 PM ^
Had to endure Modern Family with the wife. Just tuned in to the game, the last thing I expected, Defense?!
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:19 PM ^
It's actually a good show.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:25 PM ^
I know it is, but not up against a good football game.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:15 PM ^
Maybe it's just me but the spread is becoming boring to watch.
October 2nd, 2014 at 11:16 PM ^
It's just you.
