I'd never heard that but, if true, that's cool. I'd be interested in seeing the proof but I'll take your word for it because I want to believe it. I suspect that won't continue if he is fired though. Just a sneaking suspicion.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:42 PM ^
Remember when I said everything he says/does is so easy to laugh at?
Our athletic director just said "My job and my personality is to the best of my ability, I have to fix that." ...

LOL UPDATE:
@mgoblog Just checked the audio. That’s the quote, word-for-word.

What does that even mean?
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:49 PM ^
He's talking about the brand, man. The brand.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:48 PM ^
"My job is where our university finds hope, where wings take dream."
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:00 PM ^
Well in fairness to Dave guys.....he's right.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:05 PM ^
Looks like they'll have to fix that grammatical bug in his next software patch.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:17 PM ^
Brandon-bot is broken.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:18 PM ^
Did he just fail the turing test?
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:56 PM ^
That would be good to write on a sign for college game day. To bad our football team isnt good enough to play in a game worthy of having game day there.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:41 PM ^
People protesting the way he has done his job is "hurtful to [his] family"?
Ugh. Please make this all go away, Dr. Schissel.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:42 PM ^
And he's still lying about how and when he and Hoke learned about the concussion diagnosis, and what he heard when, generally.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:44 PM ^
While I'm glad he actually noticed people were mad at him, it's amazing how blind he is to why those people are mad at him. It's not just students -- did he miss the empty stadium the last 3 games?
If you're competing with television sets, logic would dictate you can't charge people absurd amounts of money for terrible games.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:46 PM ^
This simpleton is nuts if he thinks any coach worth more than two bags of rice and PlayStation 1 will come work for him.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:49 PM ^
He stumbled and made no sense when he said:
"That was just another of the failure of communication that took place between among of [huh, what????] the doctors, all of the trainers -- in this case, the head coach -- to try to piece together what happened."
He stumbled and made no sense here because he knows he's inventing things and otherwise lying. And it shows clearly that he wanted to try to blame the doctors all along, but realized he couldn't and so he mumble-stumbled the "between among of the doctors" babble.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:54 PM ^
From the article:
Brandon said he doesn’t know how Hoke eventually learned of the concussion. As of Monday afternoon’s press conference, the coach had claimed he was only aware of Morris’ high ankle sprain, also suffered against Minnesota.
“That was just another example of the failure of communication that took place between among of the doctors, all of the trainers — in this case, the head coach — to try to piece together what happened,” Brandon said.
It's a shame there wasn't someone in charge of the whole operation who could have sorted this all out before Monday.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
Dave Brandon's 1000 miles away. Thinks to himself. I dunno, I ran him over three times. I should probably go back and double check Brady's dead though.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
As long as nobody is asking about how badly Paul Schmidt and his staff screwed this up, I'm not going to throw them under the bus.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:06 PM ^
Why haven't you said so before?!?
October 2nd, 2014 at 4:42 PM ^
Sometimes things only sink in the thousandth time you repeat them.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:03 PM ^
But if anybody doesn't think he's flat out lying here, they are incredibly naive. There is zero chance that Shane would've been diagnosed with a concussion at any point Sunday and the head coach wouldn't have been made aware of it.
October 2nd, 2014 at 4:44 PM ^
It's not like Shane's possible concussion was some big issue, or that anyone was likely to ask Hoke about it at his Monday press conference.
October 2nd, 2014 at 4:00 PM ^
throwing anyone associated with the program under the bus with that statement???
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:52 PM ^
FYI something is going down if not today then very soon.
Rivals insiders are saying something is going down today. Whether that means things actually get public today or later, something is up.
Mid day chat cut short due to a meeting about what is going down.
Take it for what it's worth but the mods over there seem to be saying there is a shake-up on the horizon.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
I think it's time we stop. Children, what's that sound? Everybody look - what's going down?
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:02 PM ^
There's somethin' happenin' here
What it is ain't exactly clear
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:04 PM ^
also, what an entirely relevant song you chose:
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speakin' their minds
A gettin' so much resistance from behind

Will be shocked if so. I don;t think they are making any changes two days before the game. They already paid for Hoke's ticket.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:53 PM ^
Just another graceless, tone-deaf, and embarrassing performance.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:53 PM ^
Also read the comment from Libavitz under that article. That's the Dave Brandon I know.
October 2nd, 2014 at 2:53 PM ^
“I’m not tone-deaf,” he added. “I felt very badly. My job and my personality is to the best of my ability, I have to fix that.”

I could be mistaken here, but I believe he is trying to say that he is quite strawberry about this whole thing and would like to orange water given bucket of plaster and apologize most profusely to the fusebox. Something along these lines certainly.

When your mind pizza makes tacos, you have to perceive quietly and vigorously the inception of fondness.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:45 PM ^
Someone should post a game of MadLibs using quotes from his statements. That would be spectacular!
October 2nd, 2014 at 4:30 PM ^
I think he just PR-boilerplated his personality... can you do that?
"I'm trying to be me as best as I can. Working really hard at it. I apologize that my very being isn't good enough and I will try my very best to rectify that situation post-haste."
Wait what?
Ten bucks says he starts growing a mustache.
Bizzaro evil-Brandon could be just what we need.

You felt BAD. BAD is the word to describe how you felt.
Feeling 'badly' means you are trying to feel something but doing it poorly.
On second thought, maybe he got that part right.

If Brandon knew about the concussion before Hoke and didn't tell him, Brandon is the major driver of the "failure of communication."

I'm not sure what personal attacks Brandon is talking about here. Nobody at the rally was calling him a poopyhead.
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:25 PM ^
Yes, but there are people tweeting him to "eat shit" and "kill yourself"
October 2nd, 2014 at 3:59 PM ^
Twas a joke, at least initially... I am calling him a poopyhead here.
That's pretty low and stupid to make death threats/insults to him on Twitter.
