OT: World Cup Open Thread (Round of 16 - Day 3)
He is Germany's weak link.
Both upstarts today having very good 1st halves. We'll see if Algeria wears down later like Nigeria did.
I feel proud of myself. Who invented that thing anyway? Probably owns some carribean island
GAH that fucking goalie!
Both sides had great opportunities to win, some great great saves by Algeria. Hopefully Algeria doesn't settle for the 'Moral' victory
Brazil-Mexico was pretty awesome also.
They're both up there. Oh no, I"m no longer seeing a 0 - 0 game anymore...
You jinxed it, victors2000
Moral Victory!
Oh wait, I thought it was sudden death, they play on!
Chelsea represent!
for a 30 minute overtime period?
two periods of 15
Thanks. I still think Algeria has a fine chance of tying this one back up, we'll see...
This is amazing. Algeria was mediocre defensively coming in, giving up 5 goals in three matches against the Group of Life. Tonight they've been rock solid.
EDIT: And as soon as I type that..
they have a lot to be proud of right now. Hopefully even more by nights' end. I'm just going for the underdog, I have nothing against Germany, btw...
That Algerian player is going to be seeing that one in his head for a long, long time if they don't pull off the comeback.
Germany looked like crap in this game. If Klose and Schurrle were starting they probably win this game in regulation. Muller can't finish worth crap (how many headers did he miss? give one of those to Klose and its in the back of the net) and Gotze is really overrated. The player they really miss is Reus.
He and Neuer were the best players on the field. But his fake fall on the free kick had me in stitches. There has to be a funny video of that somewhere....
