The Lions take a DE over S or even WR.
point. The Lions don't have much depth at DE.
Their next pick is in the fifth. This came from the Seattle trade yesterday.
third fourth rounder.
another TE? wtf?
...isn't he?
if he's got his head right, might be a very good pick.
He's 6'6" and had the 2nd fastest time for a DL at the combine. His 4.58 was only behind Clowney.
my mistake
The Lions have taken steps to improving their pass rush with Von Noy and Webster. I like it.
I love your positivity.
pick the Lions make as many are wont to do.
I try to look at the reasoning the Lions might be using and go from there. I would have gone with someone different in the 1st and 3rd rounds, but the 4th is a crapshoot anyways. Lawson I'm not sure of, but Webster's athleticism intrigues me which is all I can ask for. I would have preferred Loston or McCarron over Lawson as I think the Lions already have plenty of smallish mid-round corners. But hey, what do I know I'm just a fan.
Lawson is a pretty classic nickel corner and considering how much the Lions love that package, he makes sense.
Look at Seattle. They have Bennett and Avril as their ends. Both are pass rushers.
Also Ansah is more of a bullrusher than a speed guy.
Your shtick is getting old, dude.
Some of those "OPEN Thread" posts during the season were downright awful.
Actually, most of them were. May have been the single worst poster in those threads that didn't get banned/sent to Bolivia.
I thought the QBs from this class with the 5 best careers were going to be (in no order): Manziel, Bridgewater, Carr, Murray and Savage.
Manziel will go to a team willing to build on offense around him. Bridgewater is a lot like Russell Wilson, IMO. Not someone who's going to be a dynamic player, but a leader who can "manage" a game if only called on to throw 18-20 times a game. Carr has the physical tools and I think he learns from his brother. Murray and Savage just had odd college careers but I think they're both solid QBs. I'd like to see Murray go to the Saints and Savage I would've liked to see with the Steelers. Bridgewater would've been better off going to the Texas (personnel wise, not coaching wise). Manziel to the Jags with all that speed they've aquired would've been awesome to watch.
Michigan is getting run through the mud on how they handled Gibbons and this stuff about ND and Shembo is true?!
"Cleared" in so much as nobody did anything about it.
Because when we get in trouble we lay all of our cards on the table and say, "what can we do to make this better?" whereas some other programs deny deny deny, and put a moratorium on ever addressing any wrongdoings until they are absolutely forced to.
Wingo said that he admitted to NFL teams what he did despite being told by ND faculty and staff that he should STFU about the entire thing.
He admitted that he did it and she didn't press charges...and she committed suicide if I'm not mistaken.
I need to research this more, but this sounds AWFUL from what I gathered.
These are the programs that have had DEs drafted so far:
South Carolina, Auburn, Louisville, Notre Dame, Missouri, Oregon State, North Carolina, West Virginia, UCLA, Bloomsburg, Oregon
You can always count on the Lions to do something unusual.
It really is not that unusual to see a small school player get selected.
