OT: Latest Earworms?
Trying to get in some last OT threads before our work begins - that is, football season.
Today's thought: what song is stuck in your head these days?
For me, it's been the song Stuck by Thirty Seconds to Mars (a band I'd never heard of, but apparently formed by actor Jared Leto and some others years back). I can almost see some stadium adopting the main chant of the song as something to yell out when your team is on defense.
So, what fun song is bouncing around your mind?
Sjowgren is a group I stumbled on to recently and have had in steady rotation since.
Tracks
Same. Seventeen is a great song. Her voice reminds me of Santigold.
Since I've gotten fairly far into "Tears Of The Kingdom", I cannot get this out of my head:
Duran Duran's greatest hits, but mainly "A View to a Kill". There's an extended versions that's got an amazing arrangement.
My daughter and her fiance have been testing out songs for their respective dances (bride with dad and groom with mom), so I've got Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle, The Killers' Be Still, and Alan Jackson's Little Bitty. Very odd mixture.
This is the most terrifying earwig story
I love this song
Wilderado - Already Loved
"All Night" by Big Boi. Heard it at the bar 10 days ago it's still stuck in my head.
Noah Kahan - Season of the Sticks
Blue Monday, always.
Oh your poor brain trapped with that stuck in there!
I've fallen down the K-pop rabbit hole and I'm scared.
Shirley Temple be damned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dKLQSjxWHI
Anytime a band can sound techno/digital with actual drums and bass; yes please. Saw them and the lead is singer is amazing.
Billy Strings…. If you don’t know now you know. Opening riff and composition is next level.
Along Came Marie - The Association
Windy - The Association
Saw them in concert two weeks ago and can't get them out of my head.
“Surefire” by Wilderado and “HAPPY” by NF have been rotating in my brain non-stop
This is super damn random, but I always rock cassettes in my truck when roaming with my kids, and recently popped in the St. Elmo's Fire soundtrack which I must've copped at some yard sale.
"Man in Motion" is a well-known banger, but there are a few nice deep cuts on there that me and my son been getting into. Also, how crazy is it that the "Love Theme from St Elmo's Fire" -- an instrumental composed by David Foster -- reached high on the charts back when the movie came out in the mid-80s? The only other instrumental songs I can remember getting huge radio play in the 80s (or ever) are Axel F from Beverly Hills Cop and maybe "Songbird" by Kenny G.
Anyway, I wasn't especially big on the St Elmo's Fire movie growing up, but the soundtrack hits a sweet spot, if you were 10 like me in 1985.
Is this a trick? Are you just trying to get a song stuck in my head?
edit: I guess I don't know how to post anymore... but yeah. Billy Strings is pretty okay. Best live show I've seen, maybe ever.
