The announcer was correct, that should not have been a foul on Jones. If he hadn't passed it, and the defensive player runs into him, it's a defensive foul. Why is it different if there's a quick pass just before the defense's initiated contact?

Empty seats are a tradition at Crisler. Until someone in the A.D. can develop better incentives for season ticket holders to sell tickets for games they don't attend, it will continue. I'm not sure what that would be, since these people obviously aren't concerned about the money.
