We have won 9 games in a row that were decided by 10 points or less.  This team has been getting all the breaks for the past two months.  Last year, we got a little bit unlucky and we were better than our Big Ten record.  This year I would say the opposite.  I'll take it, but dang -- I have this fear that we are going to lose in the round of 32 on a buzzer beater as payback.

John Beilein's reaction during and right after the shot is so great and true to his personality. The least excited excitement I have ever seen.

I've read and reread the stated definitions of basket interference and goaltending according to the official NCAA 2013/'14/'15 Men's Basketball rule book- I just can't come to the conclusion, based on the technical descriptions used, that his net touch was any form of a violation. http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/BR15.pdf To be goaltending, it would have to be a defensive player...so that's out. And, based on the specific NCAA language, I don't think it was basket interference either: Basket interference occurs when a player: 1. Touches the ball or any part of the basket while the ball is on or within the basket; 2. Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has the ring as its lower base; 3. Reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before it enters the cylinder; or 4. Pulls down a movable ring so that it contacts the ball before the ring returns to its original position. 5. Causes the basket or backboard to vibrate when the ball is on or within the basket or the backboard and/or is on or in the cylinder. b. The cylinder is the imaginary geometric figure that has the ring as its base and is formed by the upward extension of that ring. c. The ball shall be considered to be within the basket when any part of the ball is below the cylinder and the level of the ring. d. A player may have a hand legally in contact with the ball, when this contact continues after the ball enters the cylinder or when, during such action, the player touches or grabs the basket.

He touched the net while the ball had already touched the rim and was still on the rim (basket).

It was a slight brushing of the net and I seriously doubt that it had any effect on the shot.  Plus, they are never going to make that call on a last second shot unless there is clear interference.
