New in-state offer: 2025 DT Kaden Strayhorn
Michigan offered class of 2025 Novi (MI) Catholic Central defensive tackle Kaden Strayhorn after he camped in Ann Arbor yesterday. He's listed at 6'4" and 255 lbs. and had already been offered by Michigan State, where his father (Jayson Strayhorn) was a standout lineman.
Michigan had not offered any 2025 prospects going into the weekend, and I now know of three: Strayhorn, in-state QB Bryce Underwood, and Indiana QB Ryan Montgomery.
I know this is a national trend, but has Michigan been making offers to kids not yet in ninth grade before?
Yes. Isaiah Marshall (2024) and Dante Moore (2023) are just a couple in recent years.
I mean…do you know of a lot of 6’4”, 250+ lbs eighth graders who have dads that played in the B1G at a high level? If so we should offer them too.
and their brother
I was 5'6" and 135 lbs dripping wet at his age.
I heard David Cassidy had that effect on some teens.
Is he like if Michael Strahan and Jason Sehorn had a child but fast? If so, let's get two.
Yeah, the name threw me for a minute, too. When I saw "Kaden Strayhorn," I immediately thought of the name "Jason Sehorn" but pictured the MSU lineman "Jayson Strayhorn" playing defensive line like "Michael Strahan."
Ryan Montgomery from OH?
Oops, yeah, just saw that I had him listed from Indiana. He's from Findlay, OH.
If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Jason Strayhorn broadcast Sparty games or contribute as an on field guy or something?
This seems a less likely pull.
Yeah, he's one of their color guys, so it seems unlikely he would play for Michigan while his dad broadcasts MSU games an hour up the road.
