It's just crazy to realize this guy was an offensive innovator, riding WVU to Michigan, then years later he's out at AZ, Ole Miss and now this seems to be his last college opportunity at a school most of us can't recall.
Time definitely flies in modern college football.
Is there another coach out there that best mirrors the RichRod trajectory and steep slope downhill? I can't recall one, although I'm sure the blog will jump all over this one.

Les Miles? Although Miles is still a head coach, but LSU to Kansas is a pretty big fall.

From being the hottest name in coaching to landing an assistant job at a school that you can only find because the city and state are in their title.
Still, you gotta give him his due: he's resilient. He's like a one-time Broadway star who shows up years later in a touring company in Spokane. At least he's still on stage.
I saw him once in a restaurant near Ann Arbor, just after he'd been hired. On the way out the door I waved and said "Good luck, Coach." He waved and nodded back.
Many years later, but same message: "Good luck, Coach."
