OT - Some speculation PAC12 season about to be canceled for rest of year

Oregon, Washington, California gov's all signed 14-day travel quarantine for those going into those states. Rumor is that this is the end and they wont bother to pick it back up after...whatever happens next.  I did hear that games this weekend will continue for all adhering to the guidelines, but then ...poof done.

Wouldn't be mad if this was all CFB  lol

Stay safe all, god bless

It's just an advisory, i.e. a recommendation.

Since players are being tested and aren't interacting with the "general population" if you will, it's not like significant additional risk is introduced.  But will be interesting to see what they do.

So that 89% game completion rate a poster here has been touting, that shows what a “success” it’s been to have the CF season, is about to take a major hit.

There’s no way this thing should continue into December. The parents, players, coaches, TV execs and fans who, in the face of all medical science and common sense about the behaviors of college kids, screamed “BUT WE NEED OUR FOOTBAW!” all got their wish, and we’ve had two months of uneven games highlighted by cancellations and COVID depleted squads being fielded.

But we’re at the point now where we are entering the heart of virus season, COVID-19 has decided that it’s dicked around long enough in regards to giving college games small windows of opportunities to be played, and it’s now slamming them with a vengeance. Schools can continue to play if they desire, but there is no legitimacy to the season at this point and it’s all nothing but a money grabbing farce.

It’s all about to end folks. Today feels like the day before the B1G basketball tournament. Hopefully, maybe, we get to watch at least one more Michigan football game tomorrow?

im having a hard time seeing a basketball season to be honest. Maybe if it’s a series of mini tournaments?

Well the NFL does have the distinct advantage of telling its players that, if you want to continue to earn millions of dollars, then you’d better not do anything stupid to jeopardize the season or we’ll cut your ass.

Not that it’s a perfect system, but it’s a hell of a lot more leverage to get players to act responsibly than teams have over a bunch of unpaid college players.

I am at the point of who cares. This cfb season is an exercise in futility. There is not one coach in the country  that should be held accoutable for this season. Look at us playing a team tomorrow that with any luck is going to play five games. Teams that are heavy with juniors and seniors to me have a huge advantage.  Lack of spring ball and non conference games doesn't have the same effect as it does on a team with a lot less experience. I mean LSU, PSU, Auburn and us would look this bad if spring ball  and a normal fall camp had happened? I dont think so ad to that you don't know from week to week if your going to play. If I am a jr or sr at UW and have NFL aspirations what is the payoff for playing? You go undefeated for what? Go ahead and rip me i have a lot more to say but I think I made my point.

Just wow. 10 hrs ago you were singing the accolades of Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Cincinnati, BYU and ND as you panned my diarie entry. Four out of those five are second tier FBS teams that aren't going to have a say in anything. BTW I see Coastals game was cancelled for today. So much for all the safety you preached to me.

Despite Michigan being bad, I'm not rooting for football to go away just to cover their ineptitude.

But, Covid is getting worse, and we're maybe entering a problem period over the holidays here. If football has to shut down, football has to shut down.

Of course, the PAC 12 stopping is a far cry from the SEC stopping. The SEC is salty they can't have stadiums at capacity.
