OT: Chiefs v. Texans NFL opening night

Weird to see Arrowhead with only 18k in attendance ..Also weird to see 18k watching live sports in a stadium.

Not weird..This has a preseason vibe.

The rookie RB out of LSU for the Chiefs already looks like a veteran in that offense.

dude, the clan lost all power in the thirties - This is just not a historically accurate.

What is historically accurate is that the nation was founded on a terrible contradiction of Created Equal and Slavery (and admittedly, the worst form of chattel slavery). Within 100 years, and millions of lives, we ended slavery. 100 years after that, civil rights was established. (They technically were already there, if you believe in "congress shall make no law" but i digress). Since the mid sixties, America is the closest thing to a culturally diverse meritocracy one can find in history, anywhere on earth.

I think pointing out the dangers of language used by Bolsheviks while murdering, systematically, 10s of millions of its own people, is appropriate. Someone with "privilege" as determined by another IS THE ROAD used in the 20th century that resulted in approximately 120 million deaths inflicted by one's very government.

I respect people protesting police brutality. This covers 99+% of those protesting. There is a strong, vocal, politically motivated 1% of critical theory, post modernist elements that want to divide.

Let me ask you, how does one support the 99+% while forcefully objecting to the <1%? I think that is what you are seeing in the booing, and the disagreements on this post. Calling people clan members for not being able to articulate the danger they see is... well, i think i know your intention which is in a good place, but the result is going to be bad.

Happy Friday everybody!

To live is to murder. That said, i agree, capitalism is like a fire that provides a benefit and a risk. Needs to be constantly monitored and reined in. Nowhere did i defend imperialism. I find that to be evil. In a historical context, i understand the impetus, but i also why tribalism was formed, pre-domestic advances, but anyway.

I cannot find any evidence of systemic nation-state sponsored murder by capitalism. The same search under communism is really easy.

Adding the LSU RB will make KC an odds on favorite to repeat as superbowl champs. I wonder if the KC D is that good or was the Texan offense just that lame. Well, since I live close by, they have been my adopted AFC team since I moved to KS 14 years. Still waiting for the Lions to become winners but I think they're a basket case.

I was watching and thought I heard booing, but then thought no way the fans, no matter their “beliefs” would be that shitty.  Then the announcers made no mention of it, so I figured I misread the noise.

If boos, this country really doesn’t deserve footbaw or sports in general.

Why should sports have anything at all to do with patriotism?  Most of it is phony as the NFL takes money from the government to advertise for the military.  Shouldn't we just show up to the game and play sports?

And as far as the disrespect:  One Chiefs player kneeled.  The Texans didn't come out to avoid any controversy and seemingly to avoid any support for this second "National Anthem".  So booing them standing together in solidarity for equal treatment seems strange.

I think you are missing the point. The military fought to keep USA free so people can exercise their constitutional rights. One of which is to freely express their opinion, for or against any entity, without being retaliated up on. When you boo them, you are actually acting against what the military and the flag and the country stand for.
