OT: What do you smell like?

Submitted by Hotel Putingrad on June 16th, 2020 at 4:18 PM

Are you an aerosol or roll-on person?

For some reason, sprays give me a rash so I stick with Old Spice (usually Fiji but right now I'm using Deep Sea for that Jacques Cousteau vibe). When applying, I always use the same pattern, left  underarm twice, right underarm once, sign of the cross on my chest, throat-slashing motion, right underarm once. I don't know why I do this, but it's been going on this way for 30 years now, every single morning.

What's your favorite brand/scent?

Re: cologne, what say you? I feel it's pretentious, but I'm open to arguments to the contrary.

For the ladies, perfume or no? My wife is allergic so doesn't ever wear any, and my mother-in-law uses something rank which I think is supposed to be reminiscent of cherry blossoms but misses the mark badly. But it's my understanding that there are some decent scent options out there.

I like the Fiji Old Spice and use it regularly as well. I stopped wearing cologne in my 30’s, so about 20 years ago. Don’t even own any.

A friend of mine at work uses Egyptian musk oil every day and smells fantastic. I don’t think I could pull it off like he does, though.

Pre de Provence No. 63 soap, degree deodorant, rarely cologne. My wife likes cologne, so I have a couple that I use for special occasions. I use just a little so she has to be close to smell it and I have no idea what the names are.

I use some form of degree antiperspirant.

I have never sprayed axe body spray on my testicles in case you were curious.

I also imagine I smell like sadness and pork sausage

Way too many "my wife is allergic too". If there is that many wives then you guys should get rid of them. ( Unless she is your "golden goose" and makes more money than you do )

Whatever mild and reputable antiperspirant roll-on is on sale. Though the one exception is that I do not wear any of the blue Old Spice variants as they seem to give me chemical burns.

Jack Black Pit Boss, it’s an antiperspirant and deodorant with a clean scent that isn’t over powering. No stains or wet spots on my nice work shirts(not an under shirt guy). It’s expensive($20) compared to what you can buy at the drug store.

cologne, I can’t tell you last time I put cologne on. If I do, it’s one spray on the inner rear and one chest.

I smell like mildew. My wife thinks she prolongs the life of my clothes by carefully drying them on the "low" setting, but in reality they're never completely dry and thus the faint mildew scent. It doesn't really bother me because nothing much matters anymore.

This topic was a refreshing change of pace, so thank you Mr. Putin.

Pennies. I typically do not wear deodorant on days I work from home, with a morning shower and quick shower after evening workout I don't accumulate much BO, at least that's my impression.

Dove men care extra fresh is the stick I use when I leave the house.

I had a good boss who was a SVP/EVP/President at a number of different companies, who was a good looking personable guy.  FWIW he went to prep school with Brett Kavanaugh and had to do a character phone disposition during the senate hearings.  In other words, some one who had it made.   But, as far as I could tell, he had fecal body odor.  If I got within 3 feet of him I felt sick.  Fortunately he was in a different city and I only had in-person meetings 2-3 times a month.

Knew a different guy in college who had fish odor syndrome (I assume).  It was horrific.

Be thankful for whatever your smell is if you're in a normal range.

Day:
Bodywash - Usually Naval Supremacy, Every Man Jack (Sandalwood), or Method Men...girlfriend got me all of this Bath and Body Works men's bodywash. Worst stuff I have ever used. Scents are real good, but man does it dry out your skin.

If I need cologne, I usually throw on a small amount of Acqua Di Giò (Tashy but fancy!)

Night:

Cocoa butter lotion before bed...bc if you lift, you get stretchmarks. Not trying to have arms looking like they are in their third trimester.

Tom's Deoderant.

Can't use Old Spice or any of those deoderants with aluminum in them anymore (was using them for years).  Gives a rash under the pits.  And anti-persperants do the same.  So it's o' natural Tom's for me.
