I’ve Tried To Be Optimistic About The Future But...

There was never an Ebola outbreak in America. Are people that ignorant? I don't know how to comment on that without being political. Sounds like people have been duped into thinking people all over the country were dying of ebola while Obama played his fiddle. Literally only 2 people have ever contracted Ebola in the US.

there are things called "treatments". there are numerous being tried now, including the malaria cocktail. if there are successful treatments, we can go about our business; maybe with masks, whatever. imo, we are just weeks away from a successful treatment being approved. you don't need a vaccine.

Fauci will step down by the end of the week to spend more time with his family.

Red states will lift all restrictions May 1st regardless of trajectories.

The summer will be a hot mess, but the Dow will be back to 30,000 by Halloween.

Trump will be re-elected, albeit more narrowly, losing PA but hanging on to everywhere else from 2016. He'll also lose the popular vote by almost 6 million votes.

COVID comes back with a vengeance by Thanksgiving.

There... feel better now?

So disgusting to hear these governors and federal politicians claim to understand what us “normal folk” are going through.  They have ZERO clue as to what we are going through.  They will be paid their six, seven, eight figure salaries throughout this situation, no matter what happens.  They can all kiss my ass!!  They are so out of touch with regular people!

Actually many of them on both sides collect millions in campaign funds and then advertise through shell company ad agencies that collect fees on the ad spend sometimes in the millions.  It’s a corrupt system.  And nobody wants to seem to stop.  Bernie has made millions this way legally.

I don't know your situation exactly, but you seem to be going through some difficult times these past couple of weeks. If so, you're not alone --far from it--but it might be time for you to step away from this place for a while and either find another outlet or focus on whatever you need to be focusing on right now. Hoping for the best for you either way.

This plainly isn't the forum to vent about it. Those places exist. This is just the latest of a series of OPs from you that are little more than stream-of-consciousness rants. If it's really too much to think about for you, step back and focus on something else, that's all.

The 20th century “featured” two world wars, a Great Depression, Vietnam and Korean wars, stagflation of the 70s, the Iran hostage crisis, the Montreal Olympics, race riots, a great recession in the 80s, the Spanish flu, McCarthyism, 2 nuclear bombs, the Cold War, nuclear fallout drills at school, and Milli Vanilli, but you’re not optimistic about the future? Maybe you haven’t been paying attention in school. Life sucks and then you die. You either try to make the most out of every day or you don’t. That choice is up to you.

Did he mean the Munich Olympics where the Munich Massacre happened?

That said, excellent post from Teeba.

/Oh snap. I know why he mentioned Montreal. Many African countries boycotted the 76 Montreal Olympics. Even more countries boycotted the 80 Moscow Olympics (after USSR invaded Afghanistan). I didn't know that fact until Ocelot mentions that to Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid V after Big Boss wakes up from his 9 year coma.

It's going to at least go through the election. Another shot for them to try and take Trump out of office. They tried with Russia collusion, Impeachment and now they are using COVID-19 as a vehicle to shutdown the country. The ultimate goal is to get Trump out of office.

It's all intertwined, yes. Remember, the president of the United States doesn't just affect the United States. Who's in office for us matters worldwide. The fact that they don't want Trump in and have been trying to get him out since the 2016 election goes far beyond just the United States. They are using any method they can to get him out. Why would they be blaming him for not acting earlier back in the 3rd week of February when the NYT came out with an article stating that he was told about it then? Dr. Fauci said on CNN: “If Trump had listened to our recommendations, we could have saved lives sooner.”

Dr. Fauci said on January, 21st, “Coronavirus is not a major threat for the people in the United States and this is not something the citizens should be worried about." He later said on January 26th, “The American people should not be worried or frightened by coronavirus. This is a very, very low risk to the United States. “It isn’t something the American public needs to be worried about or be frightened about.” Five days later, Trump issued a travel ban on China and nobody was with him on it.
