BPONE.

There is a post on the board covering this.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:04 PM ^
I think that was the post-game press conference from Saturday.
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:43 PM ^
He's an absolute putz. Moving on.
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:48 PM ^
I really don’t care what he has to say. The man is clueless. Stop making excuses and win the big games! If we crush Rutgers this week some idiots are gonna say we are improving. I’m tired of this crap. It’s year 5! Win or leave!
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:51 PM ^
Hey, don't knock Rutgers. It could end up being our biggest win of the year.
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
To be fair, if we crush Rutgers this week that would be an improvement.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:00 PM ^
Yes, stating the obvious. Crushing Rutgers is better than getting crushed by Wisconsin. I suppose by that logic this season will be a success.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:21 PM ^
No, but it's also not logical to assume zero improvement can happen 4 games into a season with a new offense and some young and/or injured players. I don't expect Michigan to compete for anything this year, but I don't expect them to look this inept by seasons end (Other than against Ohio State which looks likely to Wisconsin us.)
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:28 PM ^
This is the MGoManchild tantrum zone -- your logic is wasted here.
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
All of our comments are wasted here in all reality.
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:52 PM ^
The comments are meaningless until we see an A performance against Iowa.
We've heard "just wait until the offense gets rolling" type stuff all season and by all accounts it looks like the worst offense in his tenure. Don Brown saying "we finally get to play Michigan defense", etc.
I'm not a strictly "say less, do more" person because I do enjoy some talking and trash talk. But right now, their word is basically meaningless until we see it

Harbaugh, the coordinators, players, are required to talk to the media every single week.
If he comes out and gives one word, non-answers the board says "he has no passion, no plan, same old coach speak"
If he comes out and accepts responsibility, says he's going to hold everyone accountable the board says "he's all talk, show me on the field"
If all you want to do is see it on the field, watch Saturday. Otherwise, imo, there was no better way to handle this press conference.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:18 PM ^
...that has nothing to do with my response.
Of course he has to talk. I'm just saying whatever he says will be meaningless until we see it.
Also, there seems to be this idea on here that because the players and coaches have to speak, whatever they say is warranted. That's simply just not true. Not saying that applies to Harbaugh's conference he just had, but just in general.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
So what is the point of your first post? That we shouldn't post and comment on a press conference?
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
I think you're reading way too much into this, guy.
My point: we've heard a lot about this season about changes, and then also about how the team will regroup, etc. Well, all of that led into the Wisconsin game, and it was all worse.
It's great they're self reflecting and realizing it's not good right now, but it's still echoing what we heard after Army and the Bye week.
Ultimately their word is meaningless until we finally see it. And I can comment because it's the internet and I am allowed to.
September 23rd, 2019 at 8:06 PM ^
Simply put, constant scrutiny is the penance you should expect when you constantly put a bad product on the field. The harsh judgements will ease up, but only after his team gets consistently better... Harbaugh and his team have earned the criticism they're getting.
September 23rd, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
The way we looked Saturday, everyone here shouldn't be thinking Rutgers is an auto W
September 23rd, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
I don't think firing Harbaugh is the answer, but I can't imagine he's enjoying this very much himself. Surely he thought things would go better when he took the job. I wonder how much more of this he can take and if he would ever resign.
More worryingly, I wonder how much more of this Brian Cook can take before HE resigns.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:07 PM ^
If it continues to go in this downward direction (and I sincerely pray it doesn't), the big donors and influential alumni will put so much pressure on Manuel and Schlissel, that Jim would be forced to resign. Again, let's all hope he straightens things out.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:04 PM ^
Agree 100%. Anyone who can't see this doesn't know football.
He gets paid way too much money for this garbage... it's hard not to wonder if that's his only real motivation right now?
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:07 PM ^
Brian does appear to be broken. Frankly, my give a fuck is as well.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:52 PM ^
The failures of the team are definitely putting Brian in a position where there's not much left to say. At some point you'd just have to let it all go and write soulless objective outlines of the games but that doesn't make for a particularly desirable product to produce or consume.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:14 PM ^
If we keep looking like we don't have a pulse the entire season, I think you do have to start thinking about firing Harbaugh. This is a well recruited team full of players who have regressed from one year to the next and look completely lost on the field. That implies a serious issue in the coaching staff. And people are just going to stop showing up to games when the team looks like that.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
Brian more or less resigned last year after the OSU game.
Unknown to us at the time, perhaps JH did too.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:09 PM ^
It's year 5, and a coach making $9 million a year is giving a converted fullback meaningful snaps at DT. Inexcusable no matter what kind of attrition you experience, attrition will always happen, and so will injuries.
Once every 2-4 years we will get a senior filled team that will give us a run. The in-betweens will be this, that is what we are now.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:13 PM ^
I agree. That's some Hoke level shit and should never happen under a competent staff.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:13 PM ^
Feels like a lot of in-betweens the last couple years..... no real shots at a run with OSU dominating like they are.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
You can't just completely ignore history. We were an impartial ref crew, and average QB play away from beating OSU twice.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:46 PM ^
It's easy to say that, for sure because glaringly that's what happened. There were a lot of opportunities missed before the obvious that cost us the game. Frustrating
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
I have no idea how they think Ben Mason is a better NT than Mazi Smith.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:17 PM ^
He isn't. A larger more physical Hinton and Smith are better than Mohawk Mason the football player.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
I got the impression from the presser that those guys aren't doing what they feel is required of them to earn playing time. I honestly don't have a problem with that, if the effort in practice isn't there, but as a coach you have to get it out of them.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:45 PM ^
I doubt both of them are lazy. It probably has more to do with mental mistakes. But at this point, you've gotta give them the chance. Yeah, a veteran OL will probably force them into mistakes but them learning on the job is better than a guy that is physically incapable of doing the job outside of clear/obvious passing downs.
September 24th, 2019 at 7:39 AM ^
No shit, what's better, or worse, a mental mistake, or getting physically man handled. I will take my chance with a mental mistake.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
A converted offensive lineman who stands straight up and just tries to take up space would be a better option in my mind.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:16 PM ^
Its year five and your avatar is a Cleveland Browns helmet... I think that says enough #BPONE
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
OMG Harbaugh gave injury updates and addressed some other issues we were all curious about. Now Rutgers has the edge Jimmy. We are doomed.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:28 PM ^
Man, your intel is great and always appreciated. But, your emotionally laced comments after a poor Michigan performance are on par with the vast majority of useless complaining we traditionally have to wade through to find the interesting stuff on this board... and by interesting, I do mean your usual insidery tidbits. I hope we can all collectively be happy someday. This BPONE stuff sucks!!!
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
Come on man, that isn't a complaint. It's reality. Play like you give a shit. I guarantee you that there will be some changes Saturday.
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:36 PM ^
Can you theorize why the team looks so unprepared vs Wisconsin? Is there some key thing missing in Michigan's game prep methodology that is contributing to these flat outings we've seen the last 5 or 6 games?
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:30 PM ^
We are going through some R&D into the next destination across seas after the season!
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
I'm not calling you out, but saying you guarantee there will be changes Saturday is not really an extreme notion. It's Rutgers. In the past this is the game we have seen changes to see how different players or different sets will work.
I'd prefer to see the team actually work on fixing some things with their starters against an overmatched opponent. Like, say, the QB's and WR's be able to read the opening in a zone or the O-line being able to protect against a stunt.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Since Joe Milton is now the backup, I would think that counts as a change
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
I haven’t seen you this negative since the Hoke administration
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
This was the equivilant to Hoke losing to Rutgers, Maryland, and Minny. That was as big a turd as you will ever see at Michigan. It was 35-0 before Chryst let off the gas. It should have and would have been worse if it were Urban on the other side of the ball.
