So...you and LJ are engaged now? Congrats, I guess. There's no love like MGoLove.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
Sorry. The teenager in me got a hold of me for a second.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:41 PM ^
Your text to emoji ratio was a little high. You probably shouldn't drive.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Just make it stop.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
This is the old offense. Just out of shotgun instead of under center.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:43 PM ^
So so true. Still play two TEs, still player group with substitutions, Still have our top WR on bench on key 3rd downs. It’s not much different at all.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
It no longer has a FB lead blocking so that’s different. This season the RB just smashes into the offensive line for 2 yards per carry. No speed off tackle, no space up the gut.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:14 PM ^
Boom roasted
September 22nd, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
Everyone wondering what the offense is, just read this series of posts.
Also, given that there is plenty of evidence that Shea can't make reads, it's also on him. Maybe it;s his ineptitude that's forcing the play calling.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:24 PM ^
I actually agree. I know you'll get lots of negative comments on this thread, but last year's offense looked WAY better than the current shitshow.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
Tote!
We shoulda hired Greg Roman.
LOL!!!
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:19 PM ^
Reminds of that old saying: be careful what you wish for - you just might get it.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:24 PM ^
They made a crazy adjustment on O. Remember in the Army game how they were snapping the ball every time SPatt clapped his hands? Well yesterday they snapped the ball the SECOND time the QB would clap. That shows some serious innovation right there.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:16 PM ^
They installed that during the off week.
This offense is like a Swiss watch.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
I am justthinking
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
You're going to take a lot of negs for this post. Best to suck it up and accept it with grace, since you really do deserve those negs.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
I may deserve negs, but I like a Sparty!!!!
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
Ecstasy is a hell of a drug, huh?
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
No one cares.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:26 PM ^
I don’t think I know what our new offense is.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
Neither do the coaches.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
Who not create another thread on your defensive thoughts?
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Dear leader, can't you have these posters hauled off to some North Korean gulag and made to wear Rutgers gear in prison until they promise to stop posting this collection of feelings-ball meadow muffin crud?
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
This is not thread worthy. It's not even text-your-buddy worthy.
This board needs to be locked down for a week.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing with this thread! Incredible job!
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
Michigan's offense being a disaster because Harbaugh listened to the outside noise and gave up control is almost poetic.
The switch made sense just looking like they picked the wrong guy to hand the reigns too.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:42 PM ^
Harbaugh's success was built off of a hard nosed, gritty style of football. After two seasons in a row of losing to Ohio State & Michigan State the fan base & media panicked. They wanted to see more explosive plays. More spread offense. Unbelievably Harbaugh bowed to outside pressure & hired outside offensive minds. They started implementing offensive schemes that appeased the fans & media but began to get further & further away from Harbaugh's style & persona. Mix this with subpar QB play in which some can be blamed on these QBs having new offensive coordinators & QB coaches nearly every year. They have to learn new formations & verbiage. No consistancy. Now we are at point that the hard nose three yards & cloud of dust is so far from what we do that Harbaugh is completely out of his element. The nah sayers are right we have no identity. Harbaugh gave away his identity to appease the nah sayers. To save his job & this program he may have to start over. Get back to the gritty style that won him games elsewhere. It may be to late at this point. But what else does he have to lose?
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
He wasn't forced to hire Pep Hamilton or Josh Gattis. You can say the offense was better at times last year, fine. But it was still janky, slow, and not efficient and was awful in 2017 as well. People wanted to blame it on O'Korn but forget it looked awful when Spright was still playing as well. He could have done more to keep Jedd Fisch, but maybe Fisch was tired of Harbaugh meddling too and left willingly.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:22 PM ^
Harbaughs offenses are successful when they can run the ball, we had zero run game against Wisconsin. We had a total of 40 rushing yards for the game. Supposedly our offensive line is good but they didnt show it, Our #1 RB is hurt apparently but I didnt see any of those option runs where the QB can keep it, especially in the first half we just seemed to be airing it out alot. The second half I think we tried to get back to a run first attack. Maybe Harbaugh started overiding some calls. Wisconsin destroyed us in the Time of possession.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:59 PM ^
Jim Harbaugh arrived here with 98% of the fan base and likely 99% of the Athletic Dept.s full throated support and you think that after 2 years the media (I assume the Big Bad Media®) and the fans "forced" him to change his offensive coordinator? TWICE?!!!
AhHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
ow exactly did the fans & the media do this,? Did they slip a hastily scawled note into the pocket of his khakis? Did they hire a sky-writer and hope Jim saw it? Wait, was it an anonymous phone call in the middle of the night? Such influence!
September 22nd, 2019 at 7:47 PM ^
I hate that we made him hire shitty coordinators and install a new offense that doesn't work, and not have any answers at DT, and hang on to his BFF Drevno for way too long. And think a DC who holds TUOS to 62 is a good idea.
All our fault . I feel terrible.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
The offense will work but not with Shea as QB. The word is out: he cannot read a defense, is a one read QB and panics the second pressure is on. I rewatched the game this morning and he missed open recievers so many times it was comical.....
Harbaugh needs to really give the keys to Gattis and stay the hell away. You think it was Gattis that wanted Mason at RB the second play of the game? Get real, that was Jim. It's the 3rd OC in 5 years and we still have the same problems...News Flash, it's the head coach that's the problem.
Despite the shit show, the offense looked a bit more competitive when Dylan was at QB.
Meritocracy my ass...Jim is so obsessed with practice performance but not so much actual game performance.
DPJ and Zack are hurt, barely play the first half and then magically get playing time in the 4th when the game is basically over?
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
I knew it was clickbait and I still click. And now I am posting on it. What the hell is wrong with me!
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:14 PM ^
You're bored. So am I. It happens to all of us sometimes. Don't be too hard on yourself. At least you're not the OP.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
I want to go to a constant pitch-and-catch deep ball offense if only we had the wide receivers!
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
This isn't the old offense? My apologies, I guess all the tight ends, FBs and DT/FBs playing 'RB', ten straight runs to end a tie game in regulation, complete lack of quick passes, criminal underuse of talented WRs, inability to get a play called in a timely manner, and complete lack of tempo threw me off the scent.
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
I was just thinking... is a fuzzy caterpillar a fuzzapiller?
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
Did you notice the running play inside the 10 was a handoff to a FB?
Thats last years offense.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
It's a little late for that now.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:13 PM ^
We had something going in 2015 and 2016, not the most talented QBs but functional and the O made a lot of sense. After that, it's been messy, but the wheels didn't come off entirely until this year.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:15 PM ^
What do you want to do about the defense? Because the way it looked to me is that both sides of the ball are issues right now.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:18 PM ^
That folds on the road. Thank God our Dads didn't do this ... or anyone else that served this country. We have a team "led" by a walking mess that just talks and makes jokes. Harbaugh is dead. Just watch his interviews. No way this guy graduated from Michigan.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:32 PM ^
Yes. The only thing this team lacks is body blows and letting the 40 second clock wind down to 1 before we snap it like last year.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:37 PM ^
I’m so glad you felt the need to share your thoughts. Definitely thread worthy! 10/10.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:51 PM ^
Obviously you weren't thinking much to put up this garbage thread.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
Run last year’s offense but please call those plays where Patterson throws to Collins, DPJ, or Black.
Call better plays. No one should be confused.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
There's music for this.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
My favorite part was the suspense of not knowing if the play would get called in time.
