USC vs Utah
Great first drive by USC. That's how you sling it. Ofcourse USC has always thrown the ball well. Stop running into the wall and throw it to WRs!!!
Think of the many Rose bowls Michigan could've won instead of forcing the issue.
This with a freshman QB no less. Sigh. Here is to hoping tomorrow Shea passes for 300+ and we destroy Wisconsin

All part of the master plan I'm afraid.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
The talent is there for him to come in and win immediately. No real rebuild necessary. That seems to be his MO.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:29 PM ^
instant powerhouse
September 20th, 2019 at 10:28 PM ^
I dunno... They look decent tonight. Get a win here, or keep it close, and keep playing like this - Helton might shock the world and keep his job for another year.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:30 PM ^
HAHA!!! I got through that post with a straight face, but jeez... If Meyer makes an offer, they'll drop Helton like a hot coal!

Imagine those Urban - Chip Kelly matchups....
I haven’t heard it, but Tennessee is the team that desperately needs Urban.

You get a first & goal inside the 5, and fumble it. Utah is going to lose this game - can't let all that talent across from them stick around with all of the stupid penalties they get. But they are hanging in with the lead at the half. Da Utes are in a world of hurt, tonight...
September 20th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
common really, now we have a turnover sword?
September 21st, 2019 at 1:07 AM ^
+1 for also being disgusted
September 20th, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
This crap talk about us at halftime... I hope they all get indigestion from eating those words.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:56 PM ^
Urban sounded like he liked Michigan to win if they can hold up in coverage. Thinks Michigan can expose Wisconsin.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:58 PM ^
Yea I agree
He was pro Michigan .
There has never been any doubt that M is more talented. But we just don't use our best players in real games. Only in practice and summer hype.
September 20th, 2019 at 10:58 PM ^
It makes me nervous how positive Urban is talking about Michigan.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:28 AM ^
He's auditioning for the job here next year?
September 20th, 2019 at 11:09 PM ^
USC is getting higher quality QB play from the 3rd string QB, than we are from our “5* QB”. “Deepest QB room in America” though.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:15 PM ^
Their quarterback is NOT better than ours. Their quarterback is being put in a position to win.
Shea is at fault for many things, but the playcalling so far has not helped.
Again, there is no way their quarterback is better than ours in so many metrics; if they have their QB play the way they have, we can too and I'm looking forward to it.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:29 AM ^
Ok, maybe their QB isn't better than ours, but their passing game coach sure is!
September 20th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
Another arm punt for a USC touchdown. Glad to see it.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
USC offense is all arm punts and it works. This is making me angry. There is no play design it is literally throw it to your athletic receiver sans they go up and grab the ball.
Pissed at Michigan for never even trying this. This is college football. Just throw it to Nico for God's sake.
Going to bed.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:14 PM ^
Its what OSU does a lot of now too. Olave uses speed down the field and they chuck it up to him
September 20th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
You can throw it to your big WR against an overmatched CB? That’s cheating!!
September 20th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
Shea and the coaches really need to watch this game. It would change their risk/reward perception of arm punts.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
Watching this USC offense I couldn't help thinking that this is what Brian wants us to do going forward. Don't know what to do? ARM PUNT TO NICO
September 20th, 2019 at 11:12 PM ^
I don't understand when there aren't more passes down field in college football when there is single coverage. Its almost always gonna be a catch or interference. Absolutely no reason why we dont do it more with Nico, Tarik and DPJ.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:13 PM ^
Thing with USC, their quarterback right now seems to have a noodle arm, hasn't been too accurate, and doesn't look more mobile than Shea is. However, the coaches are giving him a chance to throw it up to the receivers and showcase his talent, and look where USC is now in the game.
Shea is more talented than their QB at so many things, and yet our offense has looked dead compared to USC today. Shea's fumbles have been apart of it, but playcalling has been a large part of it too.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:21 PM ^
horrible safety play by Utah seems to be helping
September 20th, 2019 at 11:58 PM ^
I mean, I agree with you in that I wish we could see Shea sling the ball around to our receivers more. But let's not act like USC's offense is killing it tonight. 21 points in the 4th quarter.
September 21st, 2019 at 1:11 AM ^
If Michigan had negative rushing yards at halftime and gained 4x more rushing yards on their final drive than the entire 4 quarters preceding it, I’m sure that would be a game in which you’d see plenty of Shea slinging it around.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:13 PM ^
As Denard routinely showed, arm punts work in college because good CBs are rare and technique is poor.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:14 PM ^
This isn't a new take or anything but I really wish we would throw the ball downfield to our weapons the way USC is tonight. Nico could make these types of plays if we would just give him a shot. Fingers crossed we were just holding back in the first two games
September 20th, 2019 at 11:22 PM ^
Well, that arm punt didn't go so well.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:26 PM ^
LOL. Say what you want about Shea, I really highly doubt he even thinks about making that throw.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:27 PM ^
Utah QB is taking a lot of hits. It looks like it is starting to wear on him.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
For some reason, this has the feel of a MW conference game.
September 20th, 2019 at 11:58 PM ^
safety -- edge now to USC
September 21st, 2019 at 12:01 AM ^
What a good game, hoping USC pulls this one out.
September 21st, 2019 at 12:09 AM ^
Officials had too much of a role in this one. So annoying
September 21st, 2019 at 12:12 AM ^
USC is too damn talented (especially at QB) to lose to a school like Utah.
September 21st, 2019 at 12:12 AM ^
Utah has bogged down several times near the goal line.
September 21st, 2019 at 12:14 AM ^
Hoping USC pulls this one out. Will be interesting to see if they go into shell on offense.
September 21st, 2019 at 12:20 AM ^
USC actually chewing up some of clock. Imagine that.
September 21st, 2019 at 12:23 AM ^
Makes you wonder what a 6’4” Collins could’ve done against the 5’10” Army DBs
September 21st, 2019 at 12:28 AM ^
I feel like i just watched a middling MAC level game. No juice to either of these teams. Utah #10? Maybe for tv ratings only. Barf
September 21st, 2019 at 12:33 AM ^
that was a good game (except for penalties)
two good teams going at it with several future pro's
September 21st, 2019 at 12:29 AM ^
When was the last time Michigan won as underdogs like USC just did?
September 21st, 2019 at 12:47 AM ^
Fire Urban!
