Joe Biden just woke up, saw your picks and they are "a bunch of mularkey". Will win the home games against the Big 3, but one of the road games (Wisconsin and PSU) that stand out. Wisconsin game has the opportunity to set the tone either way.
Lose to SC in Rose Bowl? PAC 12 must be very weak, SC will be lucky to go 8-4 with a coach on the hot seat.
Idk, it's Michigan football. I thought, how can this be the best season since 1997 while also giving the fans enough ammo to be pissed off about it all offseason?
11 wins! Big Ten Champs! We beat Ohio!
vs.
Can't beat rivals! Losing Record vs. MSU! 0-2 vs Notre Dame!
Losing to USC in the Rose Bowl AGAIN is just icing on top of the cake. I see USC squeaking out of a very weak Pac12, with a bad coach lucking into an extra year or two just because he has talent no one else can compete with. We would lose to USC because our heart wasn't in it after a 1-loss, non-SEC Champ beats us out for the 4th playoff spot...
How do you figure that Michigan wins at Wisconsin, wins at Penn State, beats OSU at home but loses to both ND and MSU at home?
I don't think Wisconsin or Penn State are going to be that good. Michigan loses to ND because ND is slightly a better team. The road team improves to 5-0 in the Michigan/MSU series since Harbaugh took over, + MSU gets lucky for no damn reason.
Michigan beats OSU because we finally beat OSU, idk.
If they beat Ohio St and win the BIG 10 Championship they won't be in the Rose Bowl. They will probably be in the CFP.
with 2 losses? I doubt it.
It's almost happened twice. It has to happen at some point.
Been listening to Steve Deace's podcast a bit, eh? I think it can happen one day, but things have to work out perfectly for it to happen, so I'm not going to predict/expect it to happen. A 2nd place 1-loss SEC/ACC/B1G team will always get in over the 2 loss B1G Champ imo.
What is that podcast?
It's just called "Michigan Podcast" Not the best imo, but good filler when you're starving for some Michigan content.

The only 2 loss team making it to the CFP will be an SEC team. Nobody else will get a look in.
15-0...Big 10 and National Title...win every game by at least 21.

OP's prediction is straight up masochistic.
I would absolutely cry.
I'd be tempted to cry, but then I'd look at the talent differential (shrunken, but still significant) and maybe sit on the couch and scratch myself.
I have ugly visions of crossing routes in my head.
I take (self)medication for those visions.

My season prediction: there will be angstiness and overreatction as is tradition
August 1st, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
what about the bowl?
August 1st, 2019 at 12:50 PM ^
Hey I thought you were gonna be pessimistic this season. 2-10 with both wins in OT vs MTSU and Rutgers sounds more like it for you Brutus

I'm feeling optimistic today

So Rad ly ridiculous it's funny!
8-5 or 14-1.
There is no in-between this year.
*unless we go 9-4, or 10-3, or 11-2, or 12-1, or 12-2, or 13-1, or 13-2.

So, a kick in the shorts for Thanksgiving this year. Awesome

9-3. Our offense, while showing more explosiveness, is hampered by its newness, and our defense won’t be strong enough to save us. That will cost us 2 games. Then we lose to OSU because of BPONE.

They have to get to 10 wins in the regular season this year. They were headed to that 2 years ago. But I think Greg Frey and Pep Hamilton just didn't work out as Jim Harbaugh planned. Ed Warinner and Josh Gattis have put improving every year back on track after it's 2 year hiatus, right? So that means 10 wins (at least) this year....right?
I think though, I can safely say, the offensive line is going to be visibly better this year. More time for the QB. Better holes for the RBs. :-)
That's about where I'm at too. I can see losses to ND and then someone like Army or IU just because. And Ryan Day or not, OSU is still loaded with an obscene amount of talent and the results of this entire century preclude me from thinking we can beat them until we actually do.
I think they'll win their bowl game to get to 10 total wins though, and I'll begrudgingly take that.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
Dude, OP....you are betting on an undefeated season ends in a one point home loss to OSU.... and then we all die hopefully?
August 1st, 2019 at 12:48 PM ^
You should feel bad.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
I don't known if the Maryland game will be that close.
Michigan HAS to beat Ohio St this year. I know last year was an unbelievable nightmare. But Michigan has to find a way to do it.
No, they don't. OSU has, overall, recruited better than us the past five years. Ryan Day doesn't look like a chump. He's playing with a fully stacked deck.
Saying "Harbaugh is 0-4 against OSU!" without context is simple-minded.
Ohio St has recruited better than Michigan St, Iowa, and Penn St, Oklahoma, Purdue, and Virginia Tech too.
You just rectum!

I predict my expectations for a B1G title and playoff spot will be flat-lined until we beat osu. Even if we are 11-0 and looking like Alabama, I will not get ahead of myself until we win that last game in November.
One prediction I will make though is that the Army game will be easier than what many people think. The national pundits will create worry over the next 6 weeks over that game and look silly when it's over.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
I hate doing game by game predictions, but 10-2 seems by far the most likely record. Toughest games being Ohio State, @ Penn State, and Notre Dame in that order.
I agree with this. @Penn State and the Notre Dame games to me are alot scarier to me than the Iowa and Wisconsin Games. And of course Ohio State will be Huge. I think we easily beat Sparty though, maybe something like 28-7. I think well drop one of those two and be 11-1. Wisconsin will be a test though, if we lose that one could be 10-2. I think we win the east and play in the Big10 Championship game this year though.
Analytics hasn't predicted Michigan over 10 wins yet under Harbaugh and they have Michigan at 9.5 wins again this year so 9-3 or 10-2 are the most reasonable predictions.

10-3
August 1st, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
Ed Feng is off the MGoBlog roundtable roster, doesn't return.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
11-1 Loss to MSU
Bahhahahahaha, im not sure how id feel if this happened. If we still win the east and Big10 it wouldnt be too bad really lol.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:54 PM ^
I'll go 10-2, but for the love of god, just one of those wins be against Ohio St. If Tarik Black can stay healthy this season and be back to his "peak form", I think the sky is the limit for this offense . That and I am really hoping a RB can emerge this season as an above average RB.
I predict a game we drop is at Penn St.
..Not saying we lose to MSU, but lets keep in mind we haven't beaten them back to back years since Lloyd Carr was here. Can't take them lightly.
The White Out Game is tough, no question. They say it's the loudest stadium in American for that game. Louder than Kansas City. Louder than Seattle.
August 1st, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
I think M goes into the OSU game at 10-1 with a loss to either PSU or ND. None of the other games are that scary.
I think this is the year we get over the hump. Win @home against OSU. Win in the Big Ten title game, and then probably a solid loss to Bama/Clemson in the playoff. Not a complete blowout, but not alot of doubt.
I'd be ok with that. Seems doable too.
I'll bet most predictions will be the same as they will be in the soon-to-be-made "three weeks out - season prediction" thread.
If you predict over 10 wins or a win over OSU you need to join the BPONE. Since 2000 we've only had (2) 10+ win seasons and (2) wins vs OSU.
Well by my count they have had 7 10+win seasons.
