Here's an informative piece about some core concepts of their scheme. Seems very compatible with Warriner and #speedinspace
February 11th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
Thank you Pete.
Maybe the OC can provide more than just headlines next time.
February 11th, 2019 at 2:46 PM ^
I like that he’s worked with Gattis and expect more college suited creativity with the offense
February 11th, 2019 at 2:48 PM ^
and there is more from Bruce: SOURCE: Bethune Cookman special teams coordinator/recruiting coordinator Aashon Larkins is also expected to join the #Michigan staff as an analyst.

Any content to go with your unlinked retweet Cincy?

Ferris State's offense was terrific this year. Helped that they had a great QB, but they were very good.
February 11th, 2019 at 5:32 PM ^
GVSU alums like myself are well aware how Ferris performs against the Lakers.
February 11th, 2019 at 5:33 PM ^
Black, Peoples-Jones, Gentry, Nico, sometimes I feel like I should be able to throw to these guys. I have to imagine there is always going to be some kind of mismatch with that line up we can exploit.
I still think the Michigan fanbase is owed a full season of Lloyd Carr's last game offense.
February 11th, 2019 at 2:53 PM ^
Possible hedge? Pats have a lot of openings and maybe McDaniels wants to work for his brother.
February 11th, 2019 at 2:56 PM ^
An interesting hire. I hope it works out, it seems like an intelligent one from the standpoint of organizational alignment in the coaching staff
February 11th, 2019 at 2:59 PM ^
Are all these analyst hires because Harbaugh suddenly has $1m to spend and doesn't do the bag man route?
Sounds like a great use of cash!
February 11th, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
We save so much on players that we can get coaches!
February 11th, 2019 at 3:07 PM ^
Mutually beneficial to both sides.
He obviously had some great experience last year, helping Jayru Campbell to the Harlon Hill (D2 Heisman) and leading Ferris to the doorstep of their 1st National Title. Perfect for the analyst role, after which he'll have the upward mobility to take a job as a Power 5 position coach or maybe lower FBS coordinator.
February 11th, 2019 at 3:07 PM ^
Building the assistant coach pipeline...... Crucial when coordinators are going to be getting HC offers.
February 11th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Or when the Benedict Mattisons appear.
February 11th, 2019 at 7:47 PM ^
Benedict "attison " you mean. He gave up all rights to that M .
February 11th, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
This just confirms Michigan’s offense will be a full spread next year, and give Jim credit for making the moves he has on offense it was much needed.
February 11th, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
Piping hot hot take over here!
February 11th, 2019 at 4:40 PM ^
Not so fast, my friend. I heard that we just signed Garvie Craw and Ed Shuttlesworth to scholarships. Each had a year of eligibility left.
February 11th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Jesus shuttlesworth? Nah, we got poole and iggy
February 12th, 2019 at 12:17 AM ^
Ed Shuttlesworth is the best name *ever* for an RB.

For those of us who watched D2 football last year, especially GLIAC and the playoff games, the Ferris offense was very "speed in space".
They probably relied too much on the legs of their QB in the end, but they had no problem throwing bombs all over the field, spreading out the D and opening huge holes for their fast RB + QB to run read options.
This is the next logical step for our offense to take. Ideally, everyone would run the Patriots offense; but there aren't a ton of TB12/Gronk/Amendola+Edelman in the world, let alone in college.
Hopefully we'll have more explosive plays than last year. We have more experienced WRs, QB, OL. Our offense should be Top-20 this year.
February 11th, 2019 at 4:17 PM ^
Considering our offense was in the top 21 last year, top 20 is a very modest expectation. Using groupthink, you may think our offense was terrible last year. If you are hoping for a top 20 offense, hopefully you were not that disappointed in being 21st last year.
February 11th, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
I was definitely not in the disappointment mob last year. I am pleased with our offensive progression, and can't wait to see what it will look like this year.
February 11th, 2019 at 5:39 PM ^
Coach Harbaugh is that you?
February 11th, 2019 at 5:55 PM ^
Those are just nerd stats. You can't really just look at that. We crushed mediocre teams, but when it counted against top defenses we were not good. The goal is to beat those top teams, not just average out to top 20.
February 11th, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
The top teams in the country pile up stats against the bad teams on their schedule too. It's an apples to apples comparison.
February 11th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
I think this is a good hire, but Ferris had a D1 Power 5 starter caliber playing QB for them against a bunch of D2 athletes. It was at times like the varsity playing against the JV. Let’s not get carried away.
February 11th, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
Aren't you just a bucket of fun?
We also hired him as an analyst, not our OC.
February 11th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Yes. I know, I read the post. People in the thread are making this sound like this hire will have some huge impact, when it really won’t. I’m just saying his success might be inflated with having a QB who was unbelievably more talented than most defenders he faced.
February 11th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
It's not just Jayru. Ferris has taken 3 Harlon Hill trophies in the last 5 years.
February 11th, 2019 at 5:18 PM ^
For me, this is bitter sweet. tFSU had a very explosive offense last year, pretty cool hire for UM!
February 11th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
As a GV alum and lifelong fan, I am pretty happy.
February 11th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
Well, why not?
February 11th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
More commitment to win now. Analyst positions are just salary - spend all you need to.
February 11th, 2019 at 8:30 PM ^
Sounds interesting and promising. Thanks for posting.
February 11th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
Ferris grad here. We’ll be fine. He was only the coordinator for a few years (Sparky McEwen before). Tony Annese is the offensive genius.
February 11th, 2019 at 11:00 PM ^
I’m surprise Western didn’t go after Annese. I know for a fact he cheats but he’s a great coach . Sparky is building a strong program at Davenport now
February 11th, 2019 at 9:35 PM ^
Does Michigan publicize or someone keep a list of all of the analysts and GAs on staff?
Seems like there is a lot of talent building behind the scenes in the program.
