Visitors list for Ohio State game
I've put together a visitors list for the upcoming game against Ohio State. If you have any additions, subtractions, updates, etc., leave them in the comments. These lists are always fluctuating.

Where is the "/s," dear "Michegan" fan for way back?

I truly hope the fans at the game follow your lead and support the team with energy, passion, and respect. Respect and cheer on their efforts on the field as hard as you can regardless of what Borges does and let's make a good impression on the visitors.
I think you're excused if Borgy lays a fat one on the field though.

Nobody better boo... this game can change the entire perspective on the season... think about it...
8-4 with an OSU win
or
9-3 with an OSU loss
Ill take the former any day...... however, I would prefer a victory over MSU than OSU, but thats just me.

I will support the team no matter what. We need to show The Team that we stand behind them.

Beat Ohio

Hell of a list. Love all the current commits going as well - feed the positive vibes amongst the recruits. Not sure if they all sit together - but it would be awesome if fans around them were super positive and supportive...
C'mon commish! I want a commit!

Don't think Jhonny Williams is visiting given this:
2014 DE Jhonny Williams (Berrien Springs, Mich.) tells me he is down to Missouri and Notre Dame. Michigan is out.

I have a question for Magnus. When I recruited back in the early 90's we were good and wanted the kids to see the product on the field as evidence of the quality of coaching they would get if they committed to Michigan. We were pretty sure we'd win, the fans would be supportive and even if we lost, it would be competitive.
Do you think the current staff has any concerns that if the game does turn one-sided and the fans get ugly this will have a serious negative effect on the kids attending? How do you, or should I ask, do you - prepare them for something like that or do you just cross your fingers and hope for the best?

the mantra of Al Borges.

Yeah, I do think that might be a concern that the coaches feel, but it's probably a concern everywhere. I think fans are more likely to boo teams than they were 20 or 30 years ago, so it's a little bit of a different dynamic.
I don't know that I would say anything to the players ahead of time. That might put them on edge and make the kids feel like the coaches aren't confident in their players or their performance. Usually the coaches get a chance to talk to a lot of the players after the game and will be talking to them on Facebook, over the phone, via text message, etc. in the coming days. I would guess that if things go sour, the coaches might mention it in passing and say something like, "The fans were a little upset, but that's because they're passionate and want to see their team win. When you win, you'll have 112,000 fans cheering for you. I think we've got things headed in the right direction and we'll have them cheering again soon."
So yeah, I think it's a concern, and you have to be ready to assuage kids' fears. But that's sort of the world we live in these days. If these kids visit Notre Dame or Miami or USC, they're going to hear and see the same kinds of things if those teams don't perform up to par.

I voted for option four in the poll, Magnus.
I hate my sports life right now.
November 25th, 2013 at 1:49 PM ^
Yeah...I have a feeling these poll results are going to be the ugliest yet.
November 25th, 2013 at 2:16 PM ^
No offense but who cares about the poll (and yes, I voted for option #4 too). The GAME might be the ulgiest yet and that could have major negative impact on that awesome list of potential future Wolverines in the audience.

Really quite sad that we have to hope our fans don't boo this weekend., but DAMMIT, DON"T BOO!

might make sense to get in the stadium a lot early and be sure some of these guys know we know them and need them. would be great to get the early arrivals going in some malik macdowell (sp) chants or say hi to Jabril.

Wait until December when we're not getting the doors blown off by OSU. If anything, those kids may come away more impressed with OSU.

I bet seeing the big house in 1/3 to 1/2 red will do a lot for osu's recruiting efforts.
