fister's been struggling since the get go. just a few feet from being 6-0. with the struggling O, you have to have a quick trigger in an elimination game.

i first guessed. i said scherzer should have come in the 3rd. he hasn't been cruising. he's had baserunners all over the place and only one K. he clearly doesn't have his best stuff. it's an elimination game.

Can someone explain to me why baseball has a 5 game series for the playoffs? It makes no sense. The entire rationalte for the length of the season is that it takes a lot of games to determine who is actually good due to the unpredictability of single games. The way baseball produces a champion is about as bad as the BCS.

Iglesias is fine because of what he provides with the glove. Avila's defense doesn't make up for his bat right now.

He's not an elite catcher but he handles the staff really well IMO and that's what I want out of a catcher. I can live with a bad bat on him. The rest of the team needs to step it up.
