Oh good god, Fister cruised the last 2 innings before that HR and he was 1 out away from 5 innings of 1 run ball. Don't sit here and second guess that because all other 29 managers are leaving in their starter in the 5th after giving up only 1 run.

Scherzer has never pitched on short rest, you have no idea if he's going to have "it" either. Fister has pitched around little trouble since the 2nd inning by getting the A's to drive everything into the dirt, he was getting outs with relative ease up until the Lowrie HR.

Can someone explain to me why baseball has a 5 game series for the playoffs?  It makes no sense.  The entire rationalte for the length of the season is that it takes a lot of games to determine who is actually good due to the unpredictability of single games.  The way baseball produces a champion is about as bad as the BCS.
