I've seen them fly a couple times this Summer. They don't make quite the same amount of noise as your military fighters, but they'll get the crowd going, especially if they use smoke.

At the first UTL game there was a crabby bitch pants sitting in front of us who scolded me about "throwing my pizza box on the ground." It was under my seat until someone kicked it out into the stairs as they walked through. She told me I was disrespecting the Big House by throwing trash all over it.

I sure hope she changed seats this year because I am going to be waaaaayy more drunk and less forgiving than I was last time.

in my section too. (SEC 24) and because its pretty expensive to sit there , they feel they own the whole fucking place. You can't stand up, you can't cheer too loudly, etc. I've jawed with them in the past but have found a much better solution. I simply flag an Usher and report them as being drunk and tell them that she swore in front of my 8 yo son. Works every time. I've had at least 3 old bitches removed this way They must have all been drunk or something. I love using the system against them.

Why is everyone hating on the pom poms? I thought they looked pretty sweet last time we played UTL. I actually think the atmosphere for this game might surpass how it was 2 years ago. Just one man's opinion.

Jesus Christ will everyone stop complaining. The Pom Poms make the crowd louder than it ever is without them. The teams getting recognition are much a part of our university as the football team is. Not to mention that they have been recognizing teams during tv timeouts for so long. And who cares about the beyonce bit? They've played lady gaga, Miley, etc. so why is this a problem?

I don't mind the pom poms.  Actually, I like them.  But they definitely DO NOT make the crowd louder.  People used to scream and shake bottles of coins and really make noise.  Now they shake pom poms and hum 7NA which alternates being loud for 1 second and fairly quiet for 4 seconds.

...activities from today's Brandon's Blog.

On Saturday night, Steve [Ross] will be the honorary U-M football captain for the coin flip prior to the start of the Notre Dame game. A special coin has been minted bearing his name, and it will be given to him as a memento of this special occasion.

Work and $ won't let me be at the game this year.  If someone could grab an LED bracelet (or two-for my son and I) I'd gladly pay shipping to Memphis.
