OT- another "urban legend" (calling this guy a legend is being very sarcastic)
Former Gator / current Eagles WR Riley Cooper being a fine representative of Urbz at a Kenny Chesney concert -
The bigger story may be:
Are there subliminal messages within country music causing people to act like this?
1) alcohol
2) alcohol
3) the sad, heartbreaking country songs
4) alcohol
5) the pedal steel
I've experienced all of those at a Jimmy Buffett concert, except for the heart breaking country songs. I'm thinking it must be in the lyrics. Jimmy's concerts are always a fun time and you never meet a stranger.
Jimmy Buffett's music is most definitely country. He's essentially Chesny with out the twang and an even more obnoxious dress code. Listen closely.
Although Buffet came first, so maybe all modern country artists in the Chesney style are copying off of him. I suppose it's slightly better than the prevelance of just poorly written alt rock songs passed off as country by no talent hacks, written to pander to an increasingly stupid population of fans who abandoned a great music tradition in favor of such hits as, and I wish I was joking "Truck Yeah"
That's a song....Truck Yeah....by a formerly respected country artist too!! Tim McGraw wrote Red Ragtop, and Don't Take the Girl! Yet nowadays he pumps out Truck Yeah and people eat it up like week old shrimp at Golden Corral.
Good stuff. Literally tilting on my chair from laughing. Also some of those posts traling the video were hilarious. "Similar to saying, I'll fight every heterosexual at a Mellisa Ehtridge concert." That one reminded me of the time I actually attended one of her concerts. Hey, not much to do in Muskegon and the whole 11 day concert event only cost 75.00 at that time. But I couldn't help but notice all the lesbians standing around in their husband beating T-shirts. I looked over at my buddy and the lady I was with and asked them if they wanted me to announce our presence. Of course we were well in our cups by then. Go ahead they both nodded, so without another hint to prompt me, I simply said, rather loudly I might add, "We're here, we're queer and we're drinking beer." This actually caused significant laughter from those wearing those Ts and yeah mullets might have still been worn by many at that time. It was a while ago.
him line up across from Brandon Graham today in practice!
not the smartest thing to say before you have to go over the middle in the NFL...good luck, Riley
Stay classy bro.
It's not really irony.
Yeah, its like saying:
I WILL FIGHT EVERY BUCKEYE FAN WITH AN IQ OVER 130!
Good thing his teammates are all white. Will be no issues in practice.
Right?
At least his response appears to be a sincere apology and offers no excuse for his reprehensible comments.
There often are luke warm apologies that require multiple iterations.
Urban's Circle of Trust continues to hold itself to the highest standards, behaving with class, grace, dignity, and humility.
MGoIdiot
What is said cannot be unsaid. And candidly all alcohol does IMO is release the safety net your brain places around things you'd do if you didnt fear the consequences of your actions.
has in his heart, the drunk man has on his lips.
racist. bad ju-ju.
Urban should have punished him more severely at Florida when Riley refused to take his African American Studies course. Unacceptable.
The N word is thrown around a lot, especially with the younger generations. Not condoning it. Clearly his behavior was drunken hillbilly. What would be of interest is whether he was referrring to an actual black guy or group, or just using the word like one would use motherfucka. So he is either a drunken redneck racist yocal....or a drunken redneck yocal.
Yikes...
I think the way you handle your mistakes says just as much about you as the mistakes you made in the first place. He said something really stupid when he was drunk, and now he's owning up to it like a man. How exactly does that indict his college coach?
The only thing more stupid that the "Hoke can't close on big recruits" meme is the "EVERYTHING is Meyer's fault" meme.
How long does a grown man have to follow his "father's figure" example until he has to stand alone on his own two feet? This says not a damn thing about Urban and everything about a drunken football player. I've personally witnessed money coming in, in any form, either change a person completely or expose them as to who they actually were in the first place. Just how Urban Meyer plays a role in his drunken "Come one, Come all," I fail to see. It's my personal belief he is espousing the beliefs passed down by the house he grew up in, not the one he spent a few years in UF. Let it go.
