Funny. I am not shocked at All!!!
Dude should've gone pro like we all told him to
Wow, I guess Will Muschamp really knew what he was talking about....
I'm guessing Muschamp was on to something when he dismissed like a 1/3 of the roster at Florida when he took over, too.
As for the third transgression, sounds like a 2013 Freshman is suspended or something...may have to do with a drinking charge. It sounds minor.
Sounds like Von Bell was also popped for underage last week....the reports just keep flowing in.
MOAR ARRESTS!!! This feels like commitapalooza, strangely.
Kids drink underage when they're in college. I'd bet that anyone on this board who says they didn't do the same when they were his age is a flat out liar.
I don't think the rate of drinking in college is 100%, but that's neither here nor there.
Despite the fact that it's not that serious of an offense, I get the impression that the guys Hoke has recruited would be smart enough not to get busted for stupid shit if their coach were taking heat for poor discipline in that very same week. Maybe leave the beer in the house.
I didn't see this in the 11W story, but per BucksInsider (HERE), Bradley Roby has indeed been indefinitely suspended pending the results of the investigation.
Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch also mentioned this as well.
I wish they would stop saying indefinitely suspended and just say suspended until we need him.
That is a minor factor, as "Urbz" is now in charge and has been long enough to hold him somewhat accountable. No coach on any team can control what his players do on their own time, but they're still held somewhat accountable.
Which would be fine IF he recruited either Hyde or Roby but he didnt. So you can't hang that on him and if he's kicking these guys off the team (and they actually stay kicked off) I'm not sure what more he can do at this point.
"but but but I put up a really big vinyl graphic that says to be nice to everyone?????? Doesnt that mean I tried?"-Meyer
Most of the time I think everyone is too quick to pile onto the HC, but in this case the amount of "transgressions" at 2 high level programs that Meyer has lead is making me believe otherwise. I would be curious to see his numbers from Utah and wherever the hell else he has coached.
did you start off this am with a bloody or two?
You know, I used to be all about playing them at their best and wanting to beat an undefeated Ohio team in November, but lately I find myself just wanting them to suck.
of college FB players on full scholarship at D1A schools who have been booted off their teams over the last two decades for stupid asshattery? I'd bet it's in the hundreds. I also wonder how many of them ever got a degree anywhere.
Glad to see the family values and morality that Urban Meyer is all about is finally starting to surface. Couldn't happen to a better team.
Neither situation has anything to do with his recruits.
Edit: Nice edit before I pressed save.
I caught the error just before i posted it. I guess I'm just used to his recruits always being in trouble!! Thanks for looking out..
Happy Easter.
I'm glad this is all happening prior to B1G Media Day. Much better that Urban should be asked about his criminals than normall football stuff.
Side note...poor Mark Dantonio, he even bussed players right from prison to practice and, with the arrival of Urban, Mark can't even win the "most criminals" award anymore.
I wouldnt be surprised if Meyer makes some kind of stipulation with Hyde that if he maintains good behavior through the rest of the summer and season, he has a chance of being reinstated. And we'll see him reinstated a week or two before The Game to warm up. Just watch.
It wouldn't shock me but I think even Meyer realizes the microscope that the Hernandez case has put him under.
This just went on sale:
I hate that son of a bitch.
recruit these guys but DAMN this stuff just follows Urban around.
Cmon Urbz be a coach/mentor/father figure not their homeboy buddy ol pal.
This one's on sale too!
1. Pu$$y
2. Money
3. Weed.
4. Tattoos...just for good measure.
That is obvioulsy not nearly as serious as the first two offenses...but interesting nontheless. I really hope Brady Hoke uses this as a lesson to our kids to not be stupid. Season is right around the corner and you only get one shot at college football and more importantly life. 11Warriors site is going bizerko...and it's hilarious.
Hyde, maybe by mid-season if he's lucky. Wouldn't shock me to see him reinstated in the week or two leading up to The Game like Posey was two years ago.
Apparently has apparently offered to tattoo the locker room wall on every player/playa, gratis this time.
Maybe Columbus should now be called Gainsville North
Urban Meyer and these arrests at BIG Media Day(s) will be similar to the Johnny Football buzz during SEC Media Day(s). Although I am interested what Urbz will say I still like to think Media Days are about THE ACTUAL FOOTBALL that is coming in a few weeks.
There's no reason to get our hopes up that a player disissal from ohio will hurt their team. history says Urb won't get rid of a player unless he thinks he has a better one to take his place.
What's funny (and a tad ironic) is Roby is slated to be one of three OSU players representing the football team at media day. I wonder if that'll change.
I have a hard time believing there is another player on the OSU roster who doesn't embody the OSU character - very talented but also in trouble with the law.
