Your favorite NCAA Football video game?
I was ranked in the top 500 on PSN. Yes I am a loser, I had nothing to do that summer, I was 16 and had no job.
I'm gonna go with real life NCAA football. Like actual dudes playing the actual game of football.
EDIT: This made more sense with the original thread title.
Bill Walsh College Football '95 for Genesis. Tyrone Wheatley, Amani Toomer and Mercury Hayes were unstoppable in that game.
I remember that. The creepy animation of bill walsh before the game started and everything.
the 2600 or the 7800? I had the 2600 with a football game that had a black and white label that said "FOOTBALL" and had to play it on a 9" black and white TV because my father wouldn't deal with it on the only color tv in the house.
Seriously, did we grow up in the 1980's or the 1780's?
NCAA 2013
I loved the original gamebreaker on the original playstation. the game was so bad it was great. Turned out no one could stop Randy Moss and I also took South Carolina and dominated the Neb team 88-10 in the national championship bowl.
Also loved the recruiting on it....nothing like signing up to 5 guys.
Yup...
lol, why is this creepy??
He already said, he doesn't know why.
It's like.....a website...within a website...
Gonna have to say '06 as well, still play that one on my original XBOX. I especially love the create-a-sign feature since I would always make the most offensive signs possible (Corso Loves The Cock, F*** The Police, etc.). They had random cutscenes of goofy looking overweight white guys with cornrows holding them up and enthusiasticly pointing at them.
So disappointed when they took that out...my were always offensive, either directed toward my friends or ohio players...made me laugh every time
do I. I soft modded an original xbox, and turned it into a poor man's entertainment center. I guess I'll get a 360 when the 720 comes out. I seem to be a generation behind.
Hey don't feel bad. I soft modded mine a couple of years ago, and up until about 6 months ago, my 360 was paper weight. Some days I'm torn between playing my 360 or busting out some SNES roms on the xbox.
Im gonna have to say 06. It was the first time where you could win the heisman, and they really put a lot of emphasis on that feature. I had a blast playing that. I also believe it was one of the first times where there was an actual home field advantage. If you were playing on the road in a hostile environment in a close game, you couldnt see which routes your receivers were running, and the screen would shake. It was a fun game.
I still play this one for the original Xbox. Any other NCAA football after that is just complete garbage IMO
04 on PS2
I was something like 300-0 in that game (I was like 16 when I first started the dynasty), for funz I would put the quarters up to the max and see if I could break the scoreboards, on one bodybag team I scored something like 100 points over the scoreboard max (keeping track on paper) which is already >200 points...oh how I miss summer vacation.
Only owned two in my life - 04 and 06. Like 04 better as I enjoyed the "Replay Classics" mode no the side and it was so easy to recruit and build a dynasty. 06 was cool in that it introduced the Heisman mode but the impact player was annoying.
I don't mean to tell you that he's a high school kid and that you should stop paying so much attention to what he says on Twitter, but he's a high school kid and you should stop paying so much attention to what he says on Twitter.
(resume thread)
Not going to lie, it was 99 with Woodson on the cover. I played that game so much it was insane. I would purposely play the 98 Rose Bowl too just so I could play as Wooson. Michigan was so good in that game.
Not NCAA, but Super Tecmo Bowl for the NES was the best football game ever. Barry Sanders was awesome.
SUPER TECMO BOOOOOOOWL!!!!
Barry Sanders was awesome, but if you wanted to destroy your noob friends, Christian Okoye was fucking money.
2004 Gamecube.
06 on the xbox, had an actual soundtrack and I believe was the first year you could actually have the QB sprint out of the pocket, like actual use turbo in and out of the pocket.
06 did have an awesome soundtrack. Not a bunch of songs you knew but it was all catchy stuff.
2004. I have on PS2 and Gamecube. Actually went back when I got frustrated with '10 and started a dynasty on '04 (cube, because I play when working out and we have a Wii in there) where I tried to recruit accurately. 55-man rosters are hard and I utterly failed to recruit a Brandon Graham and had to create a Jake Long. I've also been pretty good at keeping to the true storyline, even to the point of running left all the time, with one major difference: Antonio Bass never got hurt.
Henne did at the start of the '07 season, and Bass shone.
Also because of when the game was made and who was consulted, it suhhhhhcks at running the ZR, while running left 14 times actually does make the waggle incredibly surprising.
Anyway I am on 2008 with a senior Antonio Bass running RR's first team, but haven't played in months. Been re-reading the Wheel of Time series on the bike instead. Something about reliving the RR years...
I didn't even own a PS2 but I went out and bought the game anyway (borrowed a PS2 for brief time but definitely not enough time to warrant buying a video game).
Quality first post here...
edit: Forget it, I'm not responding.
